Swithens Farm
"We are an independent family run business and our farm has been in our family for over 60 years. Here you can meet our more than just our farm yard animals, we have many friends such as Meerkats, Emus, Donkeys and more! The rare opportunity to get up close and personal is waiting for you here at our farm, an experience that is not so easy to find anymore. From lamb feeding to tractor rides – it’s here! We try our very best to offer educational value to your visit, in which we have many School Trips visit to learn about the farm life and the animals, especially how the food they eat ends up on their plates. Not only do we have our open farm, we have a café that is open when the farm is and a camp site for tents."

Visiting from Glasgow as we were staying nearby, and decided after reading a lot of mixed reviews to go for the day. I can’t comment from a parents POV although a lot of choice of toys / play areas or the cafe as it was too busy for us, but all of the specials on the menu sounded lovely - but everything else we couldn’t find fault in. A working farm with a very animal-oriented approach - all about the animals. From the variety, breeds and how friendly each individual animal was, it simply couldn’t have been better. The price is totally fair, whilst also having the added extra of calf and lamb feedings included in the admission. Although it was really busy and cramped waiting for animal feedings, the staff went out their way to do 2/3 rounds so everyone got a chance to feed the calves and lambs. Staff were really friendly and all of the butchery looked really nice. The £1 carrots are a must though! We really look forward to coming back - don’t let the reviews put you off!
Lovely little working farm for families. We've been more than once and always enjoyed our visits. The staff are nice and friendly and always happy to answer any of your questions. There is a nice little gift shop and cafe on site if your wanting any refreshments or a nice little souvenir or gift from your visit to the farm. You can get up close to the animals and hand feed them carrots which you can buy from the farm shop for £1 a tub. Bottle feeding the lambs and calfs is also a lot of fun as is squirrel club for the kids. They also have play barns and when the weather is nice a little beach for the children to enjoy. Clean toilets on site and plenty of hand washing facilities which is a good things to have on a farm. The sit on tractor they have as you approach the animals is also a great place to stop and have a photo. I would also highly recommended the VIP farmers experience if you get the opportunity its great fun to see what it's like to be a farmer for a few hours and very educational Would highly recommend to family and friends and we can't wait for our next visit.
Nice place for all day with the kids. You can feed with a carrot £1 a box alpacas, donkeys, pigs, cows, and bottle calves and lambs and pet the rabbits. If you choose farmer experience admission then you have a lot of privileges. You can meet and feed the meerkats. But it’s from 6 yo. They have a huge baby change room, toilets, big cafe with a nice price. As a big breakfast cost £7.50, burgers with salad and fries 7.50. Hot chocolate £2.50. Plus they cake a cakes there too. They sell eggs pack of 6 cost £1.50. As all area is a big field so better to have a boots as it is very dirty.
Great day out for all the family, feed the lambs see the piglets, calfs and lots of other animals. Indoor play area for the kids and picnic areas and a cafe and butchers on site. Only £9 for adults and kids go free.
Great day out for the family, feeding the lambs & the Calves. Our grandsons aged 8 & 2 both loved it. With a few activities for them both to enjoy. Nice cafe a good cup of coffee
Great family day out had a blast day And great amazing cafe food. And all good price.
Kids enjoyed the visit, but it was a bit expensive compared to other farms with more animals. We were done within an hour, so it was not an all-day thing. We ate, and the food was nice but only one sausage in a sandwich, which was odd. Bought some frozen pie's which are really nice, I've been back since just to buy more pie's!
We love Swithens Farm. Such a friendly, welcoming place. The staff are phenomenal, so helpful and great with the children. The animals are well looked after. The outdoor play areas are currently having an upgrade, but there is plenty to see and do. It's not too expensive for anything food and gifts included. It's just a wonderful place to visit
Our visit to Swithens Farm was absolutely fantastic! We had a blast feeding the friendly animals and even got to feed milk to the cows. The farm had a wonderful family-friendly atmosphere with a delightful play area for our kid.The staff were welcoming and made our visit even more enjoyable. Our day at Swithens Farm exceeded our expectations, and we can’t wait to visit again. We highly recommend this place for a fun-filled family day out.
Good value for money, bottle feeding the lambs was fun would definitely recommend to people with children
