Please save yourself the hassle and money and do not use this dealer. After buying a vehicle from them I have had nothing but issues. Firstly it was obviously the vehicle had not gone under any sort of inspection prior to selling the vehicle, with a gearbox bolt lurking in the bottom of the car, plastics held on with cable ties. When asked they claim they do not know how this happened and make you bring it back to sort it. The vehicle has had fault after fault resulting in me having to go back time after time. A problem with the gearbox which they said was just my driving and refused to fix, however after taking it to a competent garage they diagnosed the issue straight away. After having to take it back about 6 times, they have now said I have to pay £150 to even have it plugged into a diagnostic computer despite paying the £500 for a 24 month warranty. I asked why I didn’t have to pay before, and they claimed they were acting in “good will” after taking in my part exchange, selling it & leaving me with a car which has issues and will not fix it unless I pay. Customer service is non existent. They say they will call you back and never do. I really hope no one makes the mistake I did and buys from this company.
Great until you drive away! Purchased a used Ford with extended warranty from Swanson dealership, everything was great until I realised that the start/stop didn't function properly, contacted the garage and was told it must be because my driving is too urban - absolute rubbish! Most of my driving is on A roads or motorways. I had the battery tested and it's not holding adequate charge for the start/stop to function, told this to the garage and but they don't want to know! Guess I'll end up footing the £200 replacement!
£427 for a fiesta door mirror replacement which took less than 40 mins to fix does not represent good value. It turns out pricing elsewhere is significantly cheaper. I trusted Swanson to provide value for money, but they failed me. My advice is to shop around to avoid being stung. Poor complaint procedure which is not independent. Ford Direct parts would have been cheaper!Service: Body & Trim
Two days before I needed to drive my car away on holiday it decided to snap a coil spring. Swanson manged to fit me in the following day and had the spring replaced less than 24 hours after it broke. Excellent service, very impressed. Will definitely be back in future.
Had a problem with several error messages on starting van still under warranty with ford, Vospers of plympton so unhelpful and took 3 hours to get back to me to advise that they were unable to see the van until the end of july, as going away on the 26th july was given the number of Swanson's of Newton Abbott we spoke to Ben in the service dept who was so helpful, we where able to drop the van up to them that same day the problem was resolved within 24 hours can't thank Ben and his team enough. Unable to fix or contribute to the repair of broken reversing sensor, told to go to Audi for software update. Audi in Exeter charged me £80 to tell me that the battery was incorrect, the same battery that Swanson sold with the car a short while ago!Service: Electrical repair
Father in law seen a lovely car he liked..rung up...seen it same day...deposit paid online..1 week later picked it up and went home with it! Not got him out of it yet! So easy to deal with good company and go out of there way to make sure your getting the most for your money! Great selection of vehicles!
Absolutely appalling, from the first visit, I purchased a BMW 530 tourer which has now failed 5 times, each time the service department have never called me, I had to call them every time, I've even contacted the Managing Director, who seems less interested than the service department, they've had my car for 3 weeks now and refuse to contact me with an update, in total they've had my car over 12 weeks in the 7 months I've owned it. Disgraceful for main dealer.
I've bought a car from Swanson and used them for services and MOT occasionally over a number of years for different cars all Ford. The sales advisers and service engineers are always polite and informative. My cars have always been taken care of and I've never had to question any work that has been recommend or actually undertaken. I would recommend using Swanson for both buying and servicing a car.
Fantastic service issues with car not recognising key calked in without appt sorted there and then without charge. Wobt hesitate to buy another car from them
