Although it is many months since I left Swansea University. This place is utterly ghastly. Some staff are treated appallingly, while others are given every opportunity which they do not deserve. There is a definitive culture of nepotism that I have experienced first-hand. Some staff are treated terribly and are on short term contracts, while others are promoted without just cause. The bullying among staff is endemic and it is altogether an utterly depressing place to work. One particular individual is Prof David Worsley who has a large ego and runs things with a high degree of partisanship. To prove this, just take a look at some of the poor academic track records of Engineering Prof’s Dave Penny h-index 5 Prof Cameron Pleydell-Pierce h-index 2 and Prof James Sullivan h-index 4, yet they are all Full Professors. With extremely poor and questionable publication records, yet they have still become full-Professors. Why you may ask? Well it is because they are friends of Dave Worsley who has had them unjustly promoted. But these people don’t realise that they are just a laughingstock, because they have not earned these titles. The system is totally unfair and unjust for others who do put the work in. They play this green renewable energy card every five minutes, yet continue to back and support the largest polluter in the Wales nearby Tata Steel. Hypocrites they all are. I have heard nightmare stories from other staff of how Professors will bully more junior staff, including Professor Martin Bache, who is a particularly nasty and corrosive bully. He bullied my colleague so much that she still suffers from depression because of it. Avoid this unfair, hypocritical and poor excuse for a University. It is not worth the time of day.
The campus is awesome, never seen a campus naturally so enriched. Loved the sea-sore, wall plants. I have studied in three different universities in London, so such campus is something comes out of dream. I felt kinda jealous of those who study there.
I cannot over estimate how beautiful this univetsity is. Situated in a beautiful city that has an award for outstanding natural beauty. It is one of the most diverse universities I have visitedand I have visited a few. The university has 2 campuses and this is the singleton campus. It is home to courses that aren't management, engineering or computer science related. If you are looking for a university that is passionate about giving you a nice blend between outstanding academic performance and impeccable student life, then I must recommend Swansea University as a destination you wont regret.
Good university, good connections. Just beside Singleton Park and Hospital. Opposite Swansea Bay. Not far from City Centre or even Mumbles and Gower.
not a fan of paying £9k a year to have a powerpoint read to me at x5 speed
It is a good school, that is why i gave a 3 star .BUT they make students from English speaking countries in Africa who are taught in British systems all their lives to take English exam to qualify, while student s from the Carribean have waivers , isn't that alittle bias towards these African students. They should do something about it . This rather unfair. This is very concerning and the school should do something about it.

My First impression with Swansea university is after the admission of my son to masters Sept 2021 intake - Computer Science . The way the university communicated the process for application, CAS and reaching the university was really excellent. Moreover, I was surprised to receive an email from the university in which they expressed their full support for institutional quarantine period in the UK when INDIA was under the Red list. Now My son is in Swansea and availed the very supportive Meet and Greet service of university. They really make me tension free by taking care of my son till he reaches his accommodation. Thanks to the HR team of the university. I am really impressed and self motivated to post this feedback.
The level this university operate at is more high school/college level than university establishment as they take a lot of school drop outs in return for tuition fees. Substandard mediocre University that survives by milking money off clueless international students who have no idea about the UK. Sure other universities carry out this practice too but they have the decency to at least maintain academic and teaching standards! Lecturers here are not even civilised and lack basic decency even forcing students to print off the lecture notes themselves to save pennies on printing credits even though some have paid over 12K for few weeks of classes. Some real rotten apples that work in this place but they do make the habit of hiring cheap labour by means of lecturers either under qualified or with bad language skills. Common problem reported by students is that the lecturers don't understand the students and student's have no idea on what the lecturers are talking about especially most from both sides are non native English speakers. A lot of cheating goes on....lecturers have to pass students who don't understand anything as their job is on the line if pass rates are low. People on sports scholarships needn't turn up either to class yet can still obtain full marks anyways. The admissions department heads act similar to con artists and prey on their cash rich foreign high school drop outs in order to carry out the biggest con of the century. Avoid at all costs as it will do more damage to your CV than contribute to your career hopes. P.S there's a lot of jealousy amongst small minded campus staff, they will illegally clamp your car and call the police on you if you park your car on legal empty campus parking or other spaces without double yellow lines. Just another method for them to bully students to cough up the money in a backwater region where people have had money problems all their lives. Do avoid also for the bad Omen around this place.
So enjoying a night out for Swansea October Fest at Singleton Park next to Swansea University. Good food and LOTS of music and beer, wine and soda. Dress up in your German outfit and listen/dance to both recorded and live German music
