Ever popular beach with great views of the Dorset coastline and across the water to the Isle of Wight.nThere's plenty to do, whether you just want to relax on the golden sands, or would prefer a boat trip to the impressive chalk stacks along the coast at Old Harry Rocks. A beach side promenade runs parallel to the beach for a fair way. For a longer walk with some fine viewsit's worth heading out to Peveril Point.nSwanage has a host of cafes, pubs and restaurants along with some traditional shops and a steam railway, making it one of the best loved seaside towns on the south coast.nPaid parking is located near the railway station about 10 minutes walk from the beach, and there's roadside parking along the seafront but it gets busy in summer.
First visit to Swanage since I was a teenager. Lovely beach, very clean, water as clear as a crystal! Loads of places to eat and drink, most dog friendly as well. People were really friendly. Defo be back !
Absolutely stunning beach.nBeautiful sand with clean, clear waters.nReally well maintained beaches with lots of toilets around, right in the town centre for cafes and restaurants. Punch and Judy show on multiple times a day.
Beach is beautiful, water so clear. Really disappointing that it's a no go for dogs in September. Beach is almost empty, so many people with dogs on Shore Road who would love to use it.
Classic British seaside town beach. Nice and sandy with plenty of amusements opposite. Many great memories here as a child it’s the perfect place for a family beach day.
