Probably the easiest way to fill you in about The Swan Centre is to split it into two parts: the Swan Centre car park, and the shops.nnCar Park:n- At the time of this posting June 2026 the car park is free of charge in the evenings after 6pm, Bank Holidays, and Sundaysn- There are payment machines for parking during chargable times, or you can use Ringo to pay online. Paid parking time limit is 4 hours and I believe there is no return for 1 hour after you leave, but please check, as that may have changed.n- There are spaces designated for small cars only on the entry level and level 3.n-There are spaces designated for larger cars on levels 2 and 4 I do not remember the height restriction unfortunately.n- Handicapped parking is on level 2 although I believe there may be more on other upper levelsn- There is a pedestrian ramp at the Sainsbury's end of the car park.n- There are 2 lifts side by side in the car park area, which only stop on Ground shops, Level 2, Level 4 and Level 6. If you park on Level 1, 3, or 5, you will have to either go up a floor in the lift and walk down stairs to the correct level, or depart the lift one level down from where you are parked, and walk up the stairs.n- There is an alternative to this lift during Sainsbury's open hours. At the end of the car park nearest Sainsbury's, they have a pair of lifts that can stop at every floor, which is particularly useful for those with wheelchairs or returning to cars with a shopping trolley. The Ground floor of this lift is within Sainsbury's itself, and so those lifts are only accessible while Sainsbury's is open.n- Toilets: To my knowledge, the car park itself does not have a public toilet. There is a public toilet on the Ground floor to the left of Sainsbury's entrance. Sainsbury's does have its own toilets, just past the main entrance, then look left, but they are accessed by a step or two, so definitely not suitable for wheelchair or mobility scooter users. Other Toilets can be found in Costa large/suitable for wheelchair users, but only available during open hours. There are other restaurants, cafes, and The Theatre which are not directly within the Swan Centre which may also have toilets available during their open hours.nnThe Main Shops:n-Sainsbury'sn-TG Jones formerly WHSmithn-Bootsn-Boots Opticiansn-Card Factoryn-Holland and Barrettn-Specsaversn-Vodafonen-Poundlandn-Post Officen-Pound StretchernThere are other places to eat and drink, shops nearby, and The Theatre, which are a 2-4 minute walk outside of the Swan Centre.nnI have been asked all these questions on several occasions, so I hope this information does help those who may not be familiar with the area. The information is to the best of my knowledge at this point in time, but like most things, the information can be subject to change.
Generally OK with some large spaces but it's pay first so you have to guess how long your going to be but paying with cash is good for me.
Multi storeynFree on Sundays.
Very tight ramps to exit and spaces quite narrow.
Easy to get to and great parking, lots of shops and everything looks clean and well presented
