I read the two very different reviews on Google, before choosing Swan Cabs (we don't live in the area). I felt the owners response to the poor review was a fair one so I went ahead. I emailed him to ask for a quote on our trip and was happy with what he quoted me. He was also quite helpful when it came to suggesting local eateries. I emailed him back and asked to book my chosen day; my birthday. We booked a table at a local pub to connect with our taxi time. I didn't hear anything from him so I telephoned. He said he had internet problems and his email was down, and that he would respond to my email when it was back online. I asked him to take the booking over the phone and gave him the details. He said he would confirm by email when he was back online as well. I didn't hear anything but took it to mean that he still had internet problems. The time came and went for the pick up and no taxi arrived. I phoned and he admitted he'd forgotten the booking and forgotten to email me. He said he would send a car, which he did. I believe it was supposed to be the replacement driver's night off, which he gave up to do our journey. He agreed we could pay on our return journey as he didn't know what price had been agreed - he would ask the owner. I fully expected him to arrive and collect us for the return journey with the offer of a 50% reduction due to the cock up, but he didn't, so we paid in full. I understood the driver to be from another taxi firm so it would not have been fair not to pay him. I emailed the owner and requested a refund and was informed that the booking had not been confirmed (true, but his fault, not mine, and the telephone booking was agreed) and said we'd had a discount, which is not true and that as we "got in both ways", we could not expect any sort of refund. I have inquired as to whether I ought to have walked, or tried to find another taxi at the last minute but as of this point in time, I have not had the courtesy of a reply. So not a reliable firm and I would most definitely NOT recommend them,

Called them arranged a time payed by card and was completely happy with my experience. Driver Colin very friendly will use them again...

Excellent service! Reasonably priced and right there the minute I came out of the airport! A great relief to be picked up and brought home so effeciently.
