Just enjoyed their training restaurant - Coast Restaurant. Good service and environment. Love their food especially the “intermediate” dish. Crispy fish skin and soft fish meat. £28 for a nice fine-dining experience, it really worths every penny.
Clean, friendly and an excellent center for adult learning. Ideally situated right next door to the Hastings mainline railway station. The college has a very affordable café restaurant that serves a varied, but well-priced items. There are dishes here for all kinds of palates, such as Vegetarian & Vegan items, as well as the more traditional fayre for & fish diets too. There is also a medical center with pharmacy situated next door to the college. There is also a stylish Costmeata coffee store next to the station, which of course serves the ubiquitous range of specialised artisan coffee & tea drinks. These are complemented by a wide choice of food items, ranging from hot breakfast sandwiches to sweet cakes, puddings & biscuits. The college is well situated and is not far from the seafront either. The college provides a very varied network of activities & courses. These are designed to help provide further education to adults who wish to continue to learn skills after they have aged out at 16 or 18yrs old. We can certainly highly recommend Hastings college if you are seeking a place to help you with your education needs.
Worst place to work unless you are ok with being messed around with your pay, discriminated against and bullied. I have never felt so uncomfortable with how everything is run - all they care about is money and not their employees. As they are already losing money from various sectors, they will make it your problem and not care about what you are worth at the end of the day. I have worked for many different companies and here is by far the worst - I wouldn’t even take my kids here for education.
Thanks so much for the excellent food and service my friends and I enjoyed at our lunch yesterday. We were all really impressed and can't wait to visit Coast again. Everything was first-class and beautifully presented, and at such a reasonable price too. A perfect venue for a special occasion. Our compliments to the staff.
I was bullied badly by my teachers so I dropped out. After speaking to different students from different classes they described the same thing. The sport teachers are absolutely horrendous but by the sounds of it so is the rest of the college.
I did a part time course around August 2017. It's August 2021 now and I'm still waiting for my certificate in nail technology. The course was great, the teacher was great she no longer works there now BUT a year later after constantly chasing up our certificates, we were told we needed to go to a location an hour away to "complete" our portfolio. We were told on our last day of the course that we were completed and passed. This was clearly a lie. We were told we needed to redo our practical assessments, and some exams. We no longer had our portfolio so even if we were okay with that, we wouldn't be able to revise for the exams. Another student upon completing the course was told that she had to redo the whole thing because it turned out her student loan hadn't been approved prior to the course beginning which was not her fault. We were given multiple dates for "completion" which kept getting cancelled, they wouldn't reimburse for lost days of work, childcare etc and insisted we needed to take our own models which was an impossible task so they refused to give us our qualification. One student did reattend to "complete" only to find out that she had a male model supplied by the college to do a set of acrylics on! The whole thing was farcical, so well disorganised, at times laughable but also extremely stressful. I am disabled with some mental health conditions and this is their treatment of students. I have a solicitor assisting me, I've reported their actions to BBC watchdog and I have written a formal complaint letter directly to the college to which I received no response in 2019. Watch this space ....
came here on open evening and loved it. few parts i would improved like the social side of staff during breaks because most of the staff were in a rush which gave the place a tense atmosphere. i will soon be attending this collage so i will have more to say then. but i did enjoy the open evening because i was treated with the respect and kindness of all staff and students.
Could do with the big holes fixed in the road by traffic lights
Absolutely appalling! No real teaching done, lessons double booked as nobody seems to be able to organise a time table on 3 subjects, no reply to emails, no consistency. One term, 3 teachers, lessons cancelled 5 minutes before starting time, work emailed to students Sunday night with work to be done for Monday morning, contacting students on bank Holidays expecting them to attend lessons as term time lessons missed with no explanations.... An absolutely tragedy. To think that the college and it's teachers should be preparing students for university. Not to mention the bullying and discrimination that goes on from teachers to students! I really do not understand how it is still open. I haven't placed a formal complaint as I know there will be repercussions to the students and my particular "young person" would be penalised. I could go on and give many examples of the inadequacy displayed however, I know nothing will be done about it.
Great modern building. Loads of courses offered. Great teachers understanding and helpful. Diner costa coffee and subway indoors. Library available. Recommend for everyone willing to study and get a great education.
