Story

We have a mission, We'd like people to taste the difference between real sushi and the rice/fish mixture that you can buy on high streets. What we offer is a new experience, the next level in sushi. The same that you can spend a fortune on when you visit a high-end sushi restaurant. At Sushi Surprise you can have your daily food-adventure with truffle, jelly, loads of special toppings and sauces. And umami of course.

The quality of the sushi is average; taste is decent but I’ve had better sushi elsewhere! Not pictured is another nigiri that had the smallest and thinnest slice of salmon I’ve ever seen!
Really good sushi rolls for London. Ingredients actually tasted fresh and good quality! With a bit of twist on the flavour too, dash of citrus juice I think. Much better than Itsu and about the same price. The sign is confusing though, it should be 25% off the sushi not 25% for the sushi, thought I was getting a right bargain!
Was a regular of this restaurant in 2016-2017. This restaurant is literally heaven for mid-range sushi lovers. Fish is fresh, quality ingredients, good service, and flavours you will definitely remember. However, I remember how prices kept rising then two times in one year, I thought it was a bit of a shame. Also, don't know about now, but they didn't accept cash then.
I've been to quite a few sushi restaurants in London and I have to say after experiencing Sushi Surprise for the first time yesterday I think I've found my favourite. The quality is exceptional especially when you consider the affordable price. If you're a new customer they offer free miso soup and a surprise with your order. The staff were very friendly and I'll definitely be back here again!!! I just hope they'll deliver to Bermondsey ;-
Amazing quality. I think it’s one of the few places in London to get great quality sushi, but Sushi Surprise is probably the only one where you can get it at such a great price. I getting the surprise sushi of the day for only £1 and I’m always eager to find out what that surprise will be for the day!
The staff is amazing! The miso soup is great! Best sushi I've had in London. Don't settle for the frozen sushi places. We arrived at 11:00AM and they were still making the rolls. FRESH!!! And the surprise...really wonderful. I also love how this place doesn't try to fill you up with rice. I will be back on my next trip into London...hopefully next week!
I never write reviews, but this place is incredible. I had a mixed box delivered to my office and the quality of a very cheap, takeaway box was really getting up to the standards of the best sushi places in London. The nigiri reminded me of Yashin's and I think one of the owners worked there? such was the quality, so it is really impressive. Genuinely, I'm moving to the area and having this place near the new place is a big plus point.
I have visited a few high end sushi places in London, but this place beats them all when it comes to the quality of sushi. The fish is tender, and fresh, the wasabi is home made and the rice is just perfect! The staff are friendly, and you can really tell when tasting the food that the chef is very passionate about sushi!
The best sushi in London! I have been to Tokyo a few times and every bite reminds me of the authentic foodie experience. The Katsu curry is so tasty. The sushi is fresh and the favours were amazing. You can not go wrong with what you order everything is delicious. The prices are really good too. Not expensive at all. Sushi 6-8 pieces £6-8 Katsu curry £7-9 Price wise on pair with Wasabi but on a whole new platform with favour and authenticity. I some times order twice in one day via deliveroo.
