My 8 and 11 years olds thoroughly enjoyed their first week surfing with Surfing Croyde Bay. The instructors we had: Joe, max, Maddie and Jake are all very professional and supportive. Facilities are very clean and convenient, with a nice bar and restaurant on site too. Perfect for all you need, just turn up with swimming trunks and a towel. Only downside is parking has to be with National trust next door, which is 7 pounds for a day.
Absolutely Superb experience. The communication before the lesson with regard to the conditions, and the reception on the day and the willingness of the instructor to 'give it a go' and see how we feel, while maintaining the option to re-book, made us feel that the goal was for us to have a great time and get the most from our session. We had booked a private session for 2 adults and our 5 and 7 year olds, and we were provided two instructors in Alex and Ollie with one dedicated to our 5 year old. Both were welcoming, reassuring and great instructors. They ensured everyone got the most from the session, with all 4 of us 5 if you include our 3 year old observer! standing and surfing for the first time. Cant recommend highly enough - kudos to Alex and Ollie.
My 11 year old son and I had a fantastic few lessons with Bo at Surfing Croyde Bay over the last couple of days. He was fantastic with my son - who stood up on his first try and did a great job of keeping an eye on him during a group lesson with 5 others. The cafe was great too!
Roxy my daughter had the best time surfing with Surfing Croyde Bay. She went from a complete novice to catching green waves out back in just five days. Kit, Max, Maddy and Joe were experienced, enthusiastic and relatable, and she can't wait to come back and surf with them again. The cafe is pretty darn good too. Thank you, Nicky, Roxy and Gareth
Both of my children aged 8 and 11 had a two hour surf lesson on Sunday and it was incredible. Alex’s instructions were clear and simple for both to understand and he couldn’t have been more patient. He was determined for my son Sebby to stand up on his board and spent a large amount of time and care with him and by the end of the lesson, Sebby had managed it. It was utterly brilliant, thank you.
Great lesson! My son and I have had a lesson before with another company a few years back and never really got anywhere but thought we'd give it another go while in Devon. I cannot rate these guys highly enough, the groups were small which allowed the tutors to spend some one on one time with each pupil and give some some excellent feedback, as a result we both surfed waves in for the first time and came back the next day for some more action, this time we hired boards from the same company. If you're looking for a professional yet fun and friendly company then this is it. Great value for money!
Great surf school, booked 3 group lessons, and 2 private lessons. Have surfed before but never been out the back because never been able to turn properly. But by mid week my son and I were out the back having a great time, and trying to turn with lots of help. All the instructor's are hands on, they don't just leave you standing in the water. Great job guys. Thank you
My friend and I went along for a surf lesson and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. There is a team of fun and friendly surfing instructors that cater to many different levels of ability and experience. All aspects of hire were included in the very reasonable price of a lesson. They also have changing rooms and showers to use for changing into and out of wetsuits. We ended up back the next day to hire some boards and found out they offer a discount for hire after a lesson, which was a great feature! Again, the board and wetsuit hire prices were very decent. Felt very looked after and would recommend to anyone learning to surf.
We booked a morning lesson with Surfing Croyde Bay. All of the staff we encountered were friendly and happy to help, and made it a really welcoming place to visit. The instructors were excellent, making sure that every ability level was supported, and giving individual support to each person in the group. We had such a good time, if it hadn’t been the last day of our holiday we would have booked more lessons!!! Thank’s to all the staff for an excellent experience
Fantastic experience. Our son has dyspraxia and is not at all confident doing any sort of sport but Nathan, Albie and the staff were great, explained and supported him really well. He really got the hang of it and loved it so much we booked a second session. His confidence has grow so much in such a short amount of time and am now looking for a club to join near us. Would highly recommend them, they were all so friendly and helpful and clearly love their work, who wouldn’t!. Thank you. There was also a good ratio of instructor to student so everyone got lots of individual support as well. There is a bit of walk down to the beach but it was worth it. The cafe is lovely and the pasties were the the best.
