If there is anybody out there who rates this place I highly doubt it, but I'm being polite you best fill your boots while you still can, because this car crash of a take away is now living on borrowed time since the China Inn has opened a few doors away. The food was lovely for years under the original Lee family, but last couple of years I wouldn't eat their stuff for free.
Food is absolutley beautiful you will not find a better authentic chinease takeaway I would 100% recommend

First time trying this place just been in with me uncle and got our food then while we were eating I noticed a hair on a waing and then another hair rapped around that one then on one chicken ball there was another hair dont order again please
Sweet n sour chicken is divine although there doesn't seem to be pork balls around Pelton or Chester le Street, spicy noodles are my son's favourite. Overall, very good and not too expensive.

Specified several times that we wanted vegetable spring rolls and still the order arrived with spring rolls that were entirely beansprouts and chunks of chicken; called up to make them aware of this and all they had to say was that they 'got confused', no suggested alternative to the dish or anything like that - money wasted entirely. This is in addition to a previous time a friend of mine had ordered from the same place, in which we were given the entirely wrong order; ours was given to another customer. The staff just suggested that we swap the meals over despite both of us having potentially opened or eaten some of the food - the disregard for basic food hygiene is genuinely bizarre. Given that this took place during a pandemic, it's just a blatant disregard for customer wellbeing - I understand places like this must get plenty of orders and may have to work to tight schedules, but at the very least basic care should be taken to make sure people are actually getting the food they pay for.
Second time we've ordered from here. There won't be a third. First time was pretty good... Delivery was on time, food hot and cooked nice. So we thought let's try it again! Firstly the price was higher than expected, although the delivery arrived within the timeframe, the wrong order arrived. 1 hour later and still waiting for the correct order to arrive
The takeaway has new owners. The menu and some of the food has changed but we think it is still very good Chinese food. Only negative thing we have found the curry sauce is not the same as it used to be and is not that nice.
