It's a classic 'theatre' comfy seats, small and intimate.nThe interval 'sustenance' app is a great idea, and worked well for some folk around us. My techno-incompetence meant I couldn't load and master it, and because everyone else was using it, there was no queue for the very expensive ices. Also some folks interval snacks arrived 10 minutes into the second half.nWe to see Hamilton with our daughter and granddaughter's who know the show well. It was a great performance lots of energy and engagement.nAll in all a great night out.nAnother possible negative the bag check was perfunctory.nThe theatre emptied at the end of the show in under 10 minutes, and we were in the front of the stalls. Lengthy queue for the merchandise, but that's not why we went!
Beautiful old theatre. Visited to watch Hamilton. Was very happy to grab a last minute £15 gallery ticket on row A. Sound acoustics were still very good in the gallery. Very good drink & food delivery service to your seat via the atg tickets website/app. Drinks prices crazy, £3.50 for a bottle of water, £3.90 for a coke. Had some issues alongside a few other people finding how to get to the gallery. It's at the far side of the dress circle on a back stairs thing, up 8 flights of stairs, no lift access so you will need a level of fitness to access the gallery, and also climbing down and up extremely steep stairs to row A. I witnessed quite a few people struggling to get up and down. Something to bear in mind Compared to the theatre royal, in Newcastle, which is accessible to the gallery by lift and less steep. Extremely long queues at the bar and toilets. Really nice old theatre overall, just loses a star for accessibility above the dress circle.
Saw Hamilton here.nThe theatre was beautiful and all the staff really friendly and helpful.nAbility to order drinks and snacks from your seat using QR code was a nice feature.nThe show was amazing as was the venue!
Very nice. Been to many shows. Would be better if the staff on the doors were kinder to people with autism and other learning difficulties though... for context they screamed and hurled insults at us for having a drink. Apart from that, very good... but the staff on doors should 100% be investigated pls. I've attached a photo of the rude door person below if that helps :
Went to see the Pratpack last night and haven't laughed so much for ages, Bradley Walsh, Brian Connolly, Shane Ritchie and Joe Pasquale were collectively and individually brilliant.nAn evening of song dance and laughter. Go see them if you can get tickets.
