Not a place if you're weight watching or counting calories!!!!. Popped in on a blustery snowy day during our holiday. Only an 8 minute drive from where we were staying. Typical olde world pub with very welcoming staff. We ordered our drinks then taken to a table and given menus to look at. There was a good selection and also a specials board. Opted for a starters of Chinese spare ribs and prawn cocktail. When they arrived they were huge!! Made us wonder if we'd manage to eat our mains. Both were very delicious, and we couldn't eat the bread and butter that also came with the prawns. Mains were steak and kidney pie and seabass. Plenty of food for 4 people!! Needless to say we couldn't finish it all. A nice selection of on tap beer and cider rounded it off. Needless to say the rest of our day was spent digesting!!!! Highly recommended. Parking just outside the place or across the road, Take care as it's on a main road Will definitely visit again. Was informed that they do takeaways as well.
I have been hear a few times with the family and I tuck the gf for Valentines day last nyt and never had a bad meal yet good staff and good food

Food is absolutly lovely, plenty of food and meat, lots of specials and variety. You cannot beat the turkey, lamb and beef. Very friendly staff, enjoyed by all of us.Service: 5/5
