While there are a couple of negative reviews here in my experience Sumner & Tabor have always been professional and courteous. Kathryn Ainsworth handled my divorce proceedings impeccably while Meg Wilton managed the arrangement of my will with similar efficiency. I am also about to engage them to handle the sale of a property for me but my experience to date in these other two departments leads me to believe all will pass smoothly.

We had a really bad experience with Sumner and Tabor in 2013/14. My wife used them when buying her first place and all seemed fine. When she came to sell her place so we could buy together, she suggested we use them again.

We started with our previous contact, Mary Johnson, who then promptly retired. No-one informed us that this was about to happen, and we were not told this when we instructed her.

Our replacement, Dipak Odedra, made a litany of errors, including getting basic details wrong on our mortgage application, like our postcode. This prevented exchange on two occasions within the same week and we were subject to abuse from estate agents and vendors further up the chain.

Lastly, it turned out that the team had made a mistake with the previous property (they hadn't realised the cellar wasn't on the lease), which held up our sale by six months and required £2k to be held in escrow for two years.

Avoid.

I cannot thank Shashi Gorsia enough for the dignity and professionalism in which he handled a family matter. 

I was surprised to meet a solicitor who has such heart, is a warm and caring person as well as being a true professional. 

The reception and other staff also made my experience at this law firm a comfortable one.

Fantastic experience with Dipak and Sumber&Tabor - Dipak was incredibly detailed and thorough, and ensured that I was not getting into anything that might cause issues later with my purchase of a period property. The staff are all very and friendly helpful throughout and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend!
