2 years ago, our son joined Summerside after 3 years at his previous school. We heard contrasting opinions and they were just that, opinions. We are now informed enough to give an opinion, and here it is, Summerside has been excellent. Our son has blossomed and matured over the past 2 years so he is as good as ready for his secondary education.. The school along with the teachers have all done their part and at home, we done ours. Remember, don't be disappointed with the results you didn't get with the work you didn't do, so home education to compliment the school is a must. Finally, a big thank to Jason's year 6 form teacher and to both the head and deputy head for their input. Great effort to which we are extremely grateful for, thank you.

My husband is a professor working in London for one year. Our biggest concern for our year abroad was that we would be disrupting the school lives of our children (taking them away from their friends and from the very good elementary schools we have them in at home). I would like to say that having our youngest child at Summerside has been a positive experience. The head teacher and assistant head are very involved and the children know and like them. Each and every person working at the school, who I have talked to or observed others talking to, has been helpful and patient. The Summerside community seems welcoming and kind. The school is well run and organized, and they also seem to be striving to improve where and when they can. I do hope that this review will help other parents in situations similar to my own! I didn't find it easy to make sense of the Ofsted reports, which seem to pay more attention to change in a school, than they do to the state of a school. The main thing that Summerside seems to be lacking is money. They seem underfunded and I wish I could change that for them. They deserve more books. They have a good yard, but I wish I could make it even better.... However, they're doing a great job with what they've got.
