I had a family membership, with the kids having swimming lessons and the whole family being able to go swimming at any time. The swimming lessons are a bit hit and miss, some of the teacher's were excellent but others seem more interested in paperwork. The facilities are a bit dated but still usable and a great sauna. In these times of spiralling living costs, it's a good, inexpensive, place to take the kids and get some exercise.
Not much has changed apart from the activities haven't heard of or seen before. The spin cycle VA experience looks good, and is interesting to of learnt about such a thing.
Pool was a great size for my little one. Like all these pools, it's slightly older, but we found it to be clean and did the job. Staff helpful, changing rooms clean.
Never answer their phones, tried booking online but website is down. Regardless you can't book a basketball hoop online and was told previously to book a badminton court, however, you then have to wait whilst someone dismantles the net eating into your paid time.
I went for the wrestling, great evening, great entertainment from the EWW wrestling company. 5 star evening. Only downside is you have to queue outside but that's on the leisure centre.
Went today expecting the pool to be freezing cold but was pleasantly surprised. It wasn't busy at all on Saturday afternoon and my daughter and I had a great swim. The cost-of-living-crisis has meant Freedom Leisure has closed Rye swimming pool. I wanted to review and say we are grateful to have our local pool and hope it stays open. Use it or lose it.
Great facilities gym sauna martial arts and courts ,2 pools but fitness trainers should look fit! £30-£60 a month but fat trainers don't entice me.
Most of the lockers are unusable, the changing area and floors were filthy and the site needs to be condemned. My pound coin wasn't returned from the locker when I unlocked it and the staff said they wouldn't refund it unless they could retrieve it. Although the pool and the building are very dilapedated there is no excuse for the lack of cleanliness.
This morning I met friends at Alexandra Park cafe.. lots of vegan meal options.. wraps, etc. Today at Summerfields none. Why? You walk into a Sainsbury Express and there are vegan wraps and sandwiches. Veganism is here to stay! Two weeks ago Summerfields had one vegan wrap full if so many additives like methycellulose. Where are the healthy vegan options? I thought an HBC sports centre was meant to be inclusive? The private sector have a thing or two to teach you!
Good go there 4 times a week the classes they put on are great and you meet some nice people.
