Early morning delivery was speedy. They didn't mind about moving failed DHL pallets to get to their goods. The gatehouse guy is awesome. Very effective and gets you on bay quickly. Almost like a military operation in here. Exactly how other companies should be. Bench mark set. Definitely one of the best tips I've ever had. Almost a full load done in under 30 minutes
Blocked the road with terrible parking on double yellows. Mentioned to driver that he is now blocking in other delivery vans and several cars, just shrugged his shoulders and walked away. Terrible attitude. Ulverston 14/9/22 8:30
Pretty sure the lady I spoke to on the phone as I made an enquiry was thinking about me in a lewd way. As a man in my mid fifties I'm delighted. Will order again.
Lunatic and/or drunk driver nearly caused a series of crashes in large Suma lorry on A382 northbound on 16 Jan 23 at dusk - driver straddled the middle of the 2-way road plenty wide enough for lorries as Thompson lorries are based on this road and don't have issues... he straddled the white line in the middle of the road even on blind corners and hills causing oncoming cars to brake heavily and swerve to avoid head-on collisions as he would swing back to the left at the last minute. Just when I thought his driving couldn't get any worse I realised he wasn't slowing down as we approached red traffic lights road works. Incredibly he just drove straight through the red light without even slowing down along the single-lane coned road - thankfully nothing was coming the other way. This was all in a National Speed Limit 60! Regretfully my dashcam wasn't working or this would be with the police already. If Suma want to show some backbone and morals they will get the dashcam footage from this lorry and report their own driver themselves before he kills someone if he hasn't already.
Don't bother with them! They are just not interested about helping other business. It's always been very difficult to place an order with them. Most of the time, you place your order, then they come back to you saying that some lines are out of stock and then they won't be able to deliver, because it's not enough. When you ask them if they can let you know when things are available, they just don't want. On a few occasion, we spoke to quite rude people with some customer service skills. Anyway, mostly because it's been hard to place some order with them, we've ended up not placing any orders for the past few months. Now, with the pandemic, they just don't want to serve us, because we haven't placed any order recently.... How, would we be able to place an order? Just unbelievable! I'm not saying, because it's a Cooperative they should be much nicer than any other wholesaler, but that doesn't give them any right to be so difficult and even rude. It looks like we are not the only ones here to have the same experience. Unfortunately, because we've mainly had bad experience recently... it doesn't come as a surprise. They are plenty of other good people to work with, if working with nice and helpful suppliers is important for you, then just avoid them. They don't deserve any business at all. Rude and not efficient at all! By the way, shame they is no 0 Star Option, they don't even deserve a single Star!
The lovely team at Suma bailed me out when another supplier let me down. I managed to get the products I needed on an overnight delivery to Cornwall which saved the day. The ladies in the office were fantastic and the delivery guy so pleasant. Excellent service all round. Thanks from Freda's Peanut Butter.
Called requesting possibility of purchasing samples for their bulk rice, in order to select one that best fits our requirements before we arrange order on regular intervals. Informed that is not possible, quizzed about if this was business order or not, told minimum delivery requirements ect then redirected to another business. Suma efficiently providing bad service.
EDIT: Hello Suma, thanks for eventually replying to my review, only took you two months! Firstly let me point out that you have not addressed the nature of my complaint, but simply shrugged it off and proceeded to praise yourselves and the good job you are doing in the midst of COVID-19, alas I have been trying to open an account for many months before COVID was even a thing! You have no excuse for this behaviour! As previously stated, that stance you guys have towards small businesses is appalling, forcing us to buy your products from smaller wholesalers who purchase from you and resell at a crazy markup, so I guess for you it’s all and only about the money, my best guess is that you all vote for the tories. They don’t care about small businesses, I’ve been trying to open an account for months now and they keep telling me that because they are experiencing a high level of demand for their services they keep declining, they do deliver to other shops up the road but I guess we are too small and unimportant for them to be bothered. Surely business cannot be only about how much money one can spend, but seeing some of the other reviews I guess I’m just better off.
The new Alter/Native bodycare range is excellent, the gift sets make great presents. The activated charcoal bar is a personal favourite along with the shaving bar, which foams up brilliantly for a smooth and comfortable shave. The whole range is great and smells wonderful.
A fantastic company to buy from - prompt, efficient service and fantastic delivery drivers. Staff on the phone are extremely helpful and will actually get back to you when they say they will! Thanks from all of us at Clean Eats Ltd.
