We found this little gem when looking for a breakfast stop whilst on holiday. A fantastic vibe, great decor and wonderfully helpful and polite staff. The food was really tasty, the portions were fantastic and great value for money. The children enjoyed their breakfast and my wife got a great vegetarian option. I would highly recommend this cafe to everyone. Definitely worthy of five stars.
This was my first visit to this coffee house, I found the staff helpful and the place very clean. If my memory serves me right I believe there are approximately 10-12 tables in two seeting that are Not giving a crowded feel. I found out that they open from 09.15 - 15.30, Monday to Saturday. Lunch 12.00 to 14 30. See lunch menus below. Setting outside were dogs are allowed, only special dogs like those for the blind are allowed inside.
Ate a lovely lunch here today. All 3 of us had a scrambled egg dish: avocados and eggs, chorizo and eggs and cheese scone and eggs. All were delicious. We then couldn't resist cakes: lemon, lime and orange with clotted cream for me; chocolate brownie for my son and a kind of flapjack with brownie topping for my other half. All gorgeous. Definitely recommend.
Lovely little place! Good coffee, fantastic, friendly service... Only popped in to meet someone over a cuppa, will def stop for lunch or cake next time!
Just a traveller passing through. I initially winced at the price of the avocado and eggs on sourdough toast, just over £7, but my god was it divine. So's the coffee, which is much more averagely priced. The place is clearly popular with locals - very relaxed, quiet, clean, and a pleasant christmasy smell. Well worth taking a break here!
I had a pleasant couple of hours in here, sipping my £3 coffee while using my laptop. Unfortunately the proprietor then felt the urgent need to tell me, with some hostility, "we are not an office". Her problem was that I had sat in her cafe "all morning" and only bought one coffee. In fact I had arrived at 11am. It was now 12:45 and I had been about to buy one of her overpriced lunches. As I explained, I understood her need for paying customers, especially on a busy Saturday as it was. But I don't think 1.75hrs is a ridiculous amount of time between buying coffee and lunch. In any case, there are much more polite, pleasant ways to make your case to a customer than this.
Always stop here when we are in Axeminster! Definitely worth the visit, do excellent breakfast and lunches and artisan coffees. Best cafe in the town in my opinion! Recommend parking in tesco for free and walking up the footpath towards the town it's only 2 minutes walk.
What a nice place, nice staff and great food. Kid friendly and great food is a rare combination. Not the cheapest, but the quantity and quality of the food makes it worth every penny. Will be back!
