Had brisket and red wine pot pie, it was very nice. I did order garlic bread, but they forgot that. It's a nice friendly pub, nice interior and a good selection of food and drink. There was no soap in the gents, both pumps empty. It's dog friendly too which is great. Will call again when in the area.
Had a small wedding event at this wonderful venue tonight, 23 covers.nFood was all cooked to perfection, timed well and presented as expected. ALL the Staff were absolutely fantastic and made sure all our guests were catered to and happy.nAbsolutely no complaints whatsoever.nHighly recommend and would definitely recommend food for all occasions.
We had a great evening meal here. Hubby had the pie & pint offer, which he loved. The chips he said were divine.I had the butternut squash & lentil Wellington which was so tasty & lovelyfresh veg. Hubby had ice cream for pud & I had the apple & fruit crumble. Again no complaints & all very tasty. The service was brilliant. Only 3 tables used but it was a Monday night & everyone seemed happy with what they had. With permission we also stayed in their carpark in our campervan which was lovely, thank you.nDefinitely on my to come back to list.nOh dog friendly too but we left our old lady comfy in the van.
Pub under new management, gone downhill since last visit , 3 tables only occupied when we got there, no atmosphere, it was a bit deadnThe menu average choice, nothing special but only 3 specials on the board, but 1 had sold out.nI had the pork ribs in a barbecue sauce, skin on fries, onion rings, my wife had the chicken breast with a garlic and cream sauce, instead of a pouring sauce, it had to be scraped out with a knife, didn't look good but tasted fine.nWe didn't say anything, but we wouldn't go back so avoid until they improve.
Absolutely adequate. People seem to be falling over themselves to eat here. I've eaten here a few times and it's fine. But sort of odd that it is fully booked at lunch on a weekend. Don't get me wrong, nothing really to complain about but food is fine, drinks are ok if a bit pricey and atmosphere is older crowd vibe. If that's what you like, fill your boots. Great place to stop for a drink in summer if you're walking for sure.
