We went there to have dinner. We weren't disappointed by the food, it was really good the veggies could have been more cooked but it was fine!. The staff was friendly but they did looked unorganised and we had the impression that one waitress was doing everything to keep the customers happy.Service: 3/5
We had an excellent stay here. From the warm welcome of the staff, to the character and charm of the place, to the decent food and drink, and all at an affordable rate that was well worth its price. Highly recommend it.Rooms: 4/5
A bathroom with a shower that doesn’t work but the owner totally didn’t care. The dinner was disgusting : a burger without sauce, a steak angus that is finally a mix of sausage.. And this is expensive ! Just never put a foot here.
Incredibly rude barman, drastically overpriced food. I went to the bar to ask for something we hadn’t ordered to be taken off the bill before paying and was accused to going there to cause an argument. Avoid!
Wow... let's just say I've seen more life in a morgue. This pub Is boring as hell. The food is below average yet they charge gastro prices. Ordered the salmon which was £21! And came out with no more than 3 slices of a baby potato! I asked for more and the bar man simply said that's how the chef makes it! So I asked if he could kindly make more potatoes since its the most expensive thing on the menu. The Bar man is beyond rude and ignorant. Avoid this place if your looking for good food or a good time!
This one of one the closest hotels for climbing Ben Nevis. It is surrounded by well landscaped gardens and stunning scenery. The rooms very dated even though my room had a new bathroom fitted, but the plug didn't work so was unable to use the bath. That being said the bed was very comfy which was a nice surprise. The room had and bathroom had no radiator just a electric heater in the room so was chilly and this was in September. The WiFi in the room was not very good but you can expect that considering where you are. The crowning achievement to The Stronlossit is their chef, the food was incredible, good hearty meals using local and seasonal ingredients. Did not try the breakfast as we were out early each day but they were good enough to provide us with a packed lunch. Would get a 5*if the rooms were slightly upgraded, but generally a good stay. A bit of a disappointment actually. On one of the coldest days with lots of rain we came cold and soaked to the Stronlossit Inn. Nobody from staff actually cared about us or offered a quick towel to get dry. We could not yet check in - ok we were early - but still, in an area with lots of hikers & walkers it would have been better if they offered us some warmth. The restaurant is stone cold, nothing like the warm woodfire welcome like in the pictures on the website. The food in the restaurant was not the best and it's a cold place to sit and eat. The breakfast ladies were lovely but the option to have breakfast only between 8 and 9 is a bit poor if you ask me. There is no drying room available for damp clothes of wet hiking boots, the hot chocolate is the best I have to say. All with all not a place I would recommend with not much love and heart for the outdoor community.
Very poor food at high price. My chicken in peppercorn sauce was dry. Couldn't cut it and so many whole peppercorns it was awful. The fish meals others in our party had was good, but as I had a fish allergy this was not a option for me.Service: 2/5
Stopped for lunch and thoroughly enjoyed the food and service. Everything spotless, services was very thorough and price was acceptable. In conversation with the owners it is apparent that the last 2 years under Covid restrictions has been extremely hard for them, but very pleased to see the restaurant busy, and here’s hoping to further success. If you’re passing by Roybridge, give the Stronlossit a try. You will not regret it.
Had evening meal in the restaurant and would highly recommend. You need to book in advance as tourism really kicking on in the highlands. The highly organised manager did try and squeeze in walk ins in the small bar area but there only some small tables there. A good, reasonably priced menu. My Highland chicken was delicious. Lovely mix of veggies with it - carrot, turnip, kale. Wine by the glass and 2 real ales on hand pump.
