I  cannot speak to the bikes, but the cakes and coffee are great. The cakes are all nut-free. The coffee they use is a blend that just suits my taste. The people who work there are friendly, the atmosphere is  cosy and informal. 
I would like to add a personal footnote. I have touch of nostalgia whenever I go in. For me, Stripes touches on life imitating art - not in the cafe, but in he conjunction of cafe and bicycle shop. I was brought up in the fifties and sixties with the books of Anthony Buckeridge about two schoolboys, Jennings and Darbyshire. In those books there was a shop outside their school that advertised "Home Made Cakes and Bicycles Repaired". Going into Stripes brings the stories back to me.

Fantastic local bike shop and the great coffee is just icing on the homemade cake. Try it, you will not be disappointed

Great bike shop, great coffee, great cakes. What not to like?! If you want some nice bikes to look at when sipping a flat white, this is the place.
