Nice garden centre with reasonable prices for plants. Nice and tidy and well organised. Small cafe too, but sadly the wife is allergic to milk and their Mayo had milk in which is very strange to find in recent years, luckily I still ask just in case. I recommend they look into that, most food places don't buy mayo with any milk related ingredients anymore. One star knocked off for that but I will go back again and will update there allergens policy.
Been past so many times without venturing in, I Had absolutely no idea they had a café. Staff are very good and friendly, good service, decent price and quite a selection of buns pastries and cakes et cetera. Unfortunately, Coffee wasn’t the best. I’ve tasted, sorry just an opinion. Plenty to choose from in the garden centre itself, with some quality looking items for sale. Why not have a look at the pictures I posted
First time visiting will happily come again had a hot chocolate and a second very nice indeed got myself a plant. The isle are great can get pram around well laid out.
Great shopping center for gifts, books and novelty items, plants for sale well presented in very good condition, everything however is overpriced compared to other garden centers. Whilst I didn't use the cafe facilities it was very busy and inviting.
Great plants available, food was really tasty but I found the portions rather small
It's a lovely place for a pitstop. A nice cuppa and a slice of cake before a wander around the new spring plants. Also a look at Easter gifts.
Had lunch staff very helpful and friendly, bought scones to take home delicious. Spent time wondering around shop, went outside bought spring plants, lots to choose from all looking, very healthy.
The Mini Growers Club which runs once per month is both interesting and educational; Grandma is member so she gets a discounted rate for both of the children. Very experienced lady that instructs the sessions as a nursery teacher for many years. We’ve come home with some absolutely beautiful creations all themed for the season, I’ve learned every time and its handy to know how to create something from nature and encourage the children to nurture plants and get away from the screens. Very good garden centre with quality products in a vast space but displayed well. Seasonal items are also displayed well. All plants are thriving and are well looked after. I’ve purchased a few gifts from here as they have unusual somewhat quirky items you don’t see elsewhere. Reasons for 4 star are more personal opinion than a specific negative; being the centre is situated a little “off main track” its a good 25 mins car journey and I wouldn’t have known it was there if not for being directed. The on site cafe is pleasant, but not really ideal for youngsters whom maybe rowdy as generally you don’t see them around the garden centre. It is also slightly overpriced for the portion sizes and drinks cup sizes when compared to similar cafeterias we visit. More than one occasion sadly we have waited over 30 mins to receive an order of toast….this has caused children to be unsettled as not patient, incurred more costs buying further beverages and frustration as no matter how many staff are on site the cafe has its own staff and only one cook. Few customers wanting full breakfast and freshly made hot dishes and service grinds to almost static. Staff however are professional, helpful, knowledgeable and pleasant and above all not over bearing or selling products.
I always thought Strikes and Stringers were the same place . Could be wrong hence the 3 stars if it is i have done a review of Stringers . I've got a feeling it changed its name to Stringers I'm sure at one time they had both signs up It is the same place and I've added another star
Visited the cafe this morning with my mum. Slow service only one waitress behind the counter. The roll was very dry the butter was on the side but the bacon had already been put on the roll bacon not hot, very poor. Tea and coffee adequate. Very disappointing could be so much better.
