Well spot on. . Thursday late lunch coming back from Oxford diverted through Brackley to see if we could get in. A very friendly and warm welcome, an old cozy typical village pub. We stopped as a special day treat and was well rewarded. The staff was exceptionally friendly and checked on the details of a few food and drink questions. We had the home made vegetable soup and creamy garlic mushrooms. Mind you it was just a hint of garlic. Perfect. For mains my partner had his sausage and mash he said was delicious. I had the steak pie with short crust pastry. A most delicious meal and a very pleasant experience. We tried to drop in on a Sunday several weeks ago, however you need to book. It was full. They do two sessions Sunday lunch and is a set roast dinner so you need to check. The prices was very reasonable as well.
Great traditional pub grub and space for the kids to play! Desperate to find a place where our kids could play while us mums needed a catch up...we googled the area and this charming old fashioned pub came up! The playground has swings and slides , albeit quite outdated but the kids loved it. Delicious Chicken Ham and Leek Pie for us, and pizza for the kids. Great food and good value. The staff were helpful and nice local customers
You wanna know what a good pub is like? This is it. Phil, the landlord is a gem and so is his wife who is also a great cook. The food is wonderful and very reasonably priced. The selection of beers and wines is superb. Don't take my word for it, go find out for yourself.Food: 5/5
Great pizzas, great staff, great place to unwind after a long day! Lucky to have this place as my local, will definitely be back regularly!Food: 5/5
Thanks for making me a much needed cheese and onion roll Phil! Great hospitality and lovely old pub. Problem was I had to sleep fully clothed in the back of a panel van in 0 degrees because I'd drunk too much!
Very nice place, family pub, real food made at place and not from frozen! You are always welcome and do not need reservation! Absolutely amazing owners and staff, would give at least 10 if possible!
Stayed 1 night in our motorhome on our way home to Dorset, Nice food reasonably priced, good atmosphere. BUT the outside, gents toilets, parking area, dangerous footing all round needs addressing , mud everywhere , Outlook quite depressing. Might be OK for some but not for us.
What a gem of a find! Wednesday lunchtime - but still got a friendly welcome. Food wasn't 'special' but was well cooked, well presented and great vfm. Location chosen 'cos my name was over the door but not connected. Will be returning
Had an overnight stop here using britstops, nice place, have electric hook up if needed £5.00 for the night. Staff & locals are freindly, didn't eat in but the food look really nice, beer was a reasonable price, would stay again if in the area.
