Absolutely amazing! One of the few places that feels like they are doing this more for the awareness than the money. A lot of animals to see - Butterflies, Stick Insects and Iguanas are just a few of them. Staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. Animals seem very well cared for. Would definitely come here again. My mum said she would definitely buy a season ticket if we lived closer. Edit: We went around again after finding out you are allowed to. Turns out prudence Green Iguana was having a wonder. I will attach some pictures I took.
So worth it, especially if it's cold and wet outside! We ended up going on a weekend at 2pm, in the hopes it was quieter, which it was. It was so much fun! I got a butterfly identifying booklet which was £1 from Reception bring your own pen though! I ticked off around a dozen before deciding there's no way I could keep up with it! There's 160 butterflies on there and I don't doubt they are all there, but heck was it difficult to tick them off when there are these beautiful beasties flying around and definitely AT you! Wonderful day, make sure you take someone who doesn't particularly like flying things around them, it makes for a good laugh!
Lovely place to have a look at butterflies and more actually. They have fish and also small insects. Plus iguanas. It's humid and warm, obviously in the butterfly area but there is plenty of hooks to hang your coat on prior to entering the butterfly area. This is not the first butterfly farm I've been to, and although seeing these butterfly in real life is so great it's a substitute that is pretty good.
Excellent set of greenhouses with a broad range of free flying butterflies, accompanied by cases of reptiles and other insects. Well worth a detour across the river from Stratford town centre - it’s close to the old tram bridge and not too far from some of the major long stay car parks. There is a well-stocked gift shop and staff are friendly and welcoming.
Wonderful time at the tropical butterfly farm, so many different species of butterfly, as well as caterpillars, iguanas, birds, cutter ants and some marine life and beetles too. Great 90 minute adventure. Disabled parking in sure and plenty of public car parks or street parking further away.Visited onPublic holidayWait timeUp to 10 minReservation recommendedNo
I've been to this place twice now. I loved it both times and noticed new things on both occasions. The staff are friendly and helpful. I would recommend wearing an outer layer that is removable as the area where the butterflies are is very humid. There's places to sit and the pathway is signed well. I've been on both a weekday and a weekend. Weekends - I'd recommend booking in advance. Weekdays I would recommend walking in however, their site tells you if there may be a school visit.
Such a fantastic place! Haven't been for 10 years as live so far away, had a holiday nearby so stopped here on the way home. Just wow! Beautiful butterflies and other insects and creatures. Stratford is a beautiful place too for when you're finished. Well worth a visit, very reasonably priced too.Visited onWeekdayWait timeUp to 10 minReservation recommendedNo
It's a magnificent place! Essentially a greenhouse turned into an artificial tropical jungle. It's warm and humid inside, so expect to break a sweat. There are toilets inside where you can refresh. You can book in advance or pay at the till, the price is the same - choice is yours. Gift shop has some nice finds - you can definitely scare someone with the 50p rubber spiders . Enjoy your next visit!
Fascinating place. Lots of beautiful butterflies flying around you as you venture through the rooms. Great for photographing some of the tropical varieties. Watch out for the Iguanas who also live around the pools. Well worth a visit particularly on a day when the weather is not kind for other activities.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
Absolutely amazing experience, will definitely re-visit time to time. Its not a big place but it feels like. We spent 2.5 hours here but could easily do more. Fills your soul with positive feelings.
