Straiton retail park Loanhead near Edinburgh good place for shopping and coffee stop or meal good variety of shops . It's is on different levels and parking space shopsnn.it could do with better pedestrian walkways linking all of park . I had to stop Traffic to get over road in the rain myself and others inconsiderate drivers as usual.nn.bottom part near McDonald's gets busy with cars walkway at shops very narrow could have faced other way onto main part but we don't build very good retail for footfall.nnIf you are going to dunelm park in main car park as the parking at dunelm busy and queues to get out
Straition is a good place to shop it has some good shops. Next,TK Maxx,Sports Direct,Boots Matalan,Pets at Home,Dunelm,Home Bargains,Food Warehouse, it also has a few furniture stores, a Lidl, and a Sainsburys.
It's OK, and closer than The Fort, the road lay out is terrible, with the Blue rinse brigade driving into One way roads because they MUST get as close to M&S as possible. All spaces ridiculously narrow for normal cars on busy days. The glass canopies have never been cleaned nor vegetation removed for years, the Management company doesn't look after this site. The McDonald's should have had an off ramp onto the main road, if its busy it can't cope and I'll thought out idea. And nowhere near enough accessible parking for people that need it. Itsbeen a shield horned site with a mishmash of units flung together
Hostile architecture and huge accessibility issues. Not a single bench to sit outside. Noisy cafés and nowhere quiet to sit in them, so inaccessible to neurodivergent people. Also when people start making holes in a hedge to get past that means that the place was not designed for pedestrians. Horrible place
Good selection of modern stores and few eating options. Increasingly popular retail destination; free car parking but can’t get busy, especially at weekends and holidays
