The club house is also called the Quayside and is open from Wednesday to Sunday 12 to 9 pm. It has a reputation as one of best fresh fish restaurants in the Midlands with fish delivered direct from Newlynn in Cornwall. The marina offers moorings for cruisers and narrow boats.
Lovely place for an evening drink, we really recommend coming here and will be back the next time we are in the area!
12th May 2024nWe were taking a boat from Sheffield to Worcester but Bevere Lock is subject to a stoppage and we took a chance and booked into Tingdene having heard mixed stories.nnSo, what's it like?nnIn a word: Superb!nnIt's only a small marina and run pretty much by three people. But what it lacks in size it makes up for in service and quality. We'd left our car in Crewe whilst shuttling around and my partner had planned walking, bussing and getting a train from Kidderminster to Crewe. The chap who booked us in drove her to Kidderminster railway station, saving over an hour on her journey.nThe marina itself is undergoing lots of renovations with new pontoons, electricity and water points.nAccess to the pontoons is via a entry code locked gate, reassuringly the code is changed monthly. Access to the site outside normal hours is via an electronically operated gate with a different code making the car park very secure.nOnsite facilities including laundry are of exceptional quality. The real surprise was the shower - clean, modern, wouldn't be out of place in a five star hotel.nEverything about this marina set the bar very high and I'd have absolutely no hesitation booking in here again. Stourport is a 5 minute drive away and has all the usual townie stuff including a huge Tesco. There are some ace pubs notably The Swan, a labour of love owned by local music shop owner.nnAnd finally, back at the marina, a separate bar and award winning restaurant specialising in freshly caught seafood steaks, burgers home made and veggies also catered for.nnIt's odd to think that if Bevere Lock was subject to a closure we'd have just sailed by. Finding Tingdene is the first time I can say I'm happy that a lock has been closed. A jewel that sets standards many other marinas should aspire to.
I'm looking at some of the reviews. There's a problem. The Quayside restaurant is no longer the clubhouse as it is an independent restaurant soon to have independent toilet fertilities. Leaving the boat owners with less fertilities. It's becoming a boat mooring place. There's no entertainment, just an expensive seafood bistro. Even by cornish prices. Even though they get their shellfish from there. I've been to Looe, Newquay, and it was half the price. Yes, Scott is a good cook chef??? As a chef is a German word for the boss of a kitchen ? I will leave it to you .
We were looking for the restaurant and had walked along the river Severn from Stourport Town, not the most picturesque route.
