Very basic station - unmanned and no toilets that is, plenty of toilet space if you get my meaning , and no ticketing machine. 5 stars for architecture of the main station building ... however it's no longer in it's original use repurposed as a community hub. 3 stars for the frequency of trains hourly each way .. At least the platforms and decor are tidy.
Travelled from stone station today and it clean quick and convenient.
decent station, tidy etc...has a lovely old fashioned feel to it!
A pretty decent station for watching trains pass through on the connection junction but other than that, it's a very basic and unstaffed station served by hourly services to Birmingham and Crewe.nnA single ticket machine is provided and only the Birmingham bound platform has step free access.
Stone station is a little out of the way but you can park your car easily. The station is unstaffed but has a single ticket machine. Mobile tickets come in handy for prebooking and saving. Trains from here run directly to Birmingham to Crewe through slightly larger towns such as Stafford and Stoke-on-Trent respectively. I find Stone station easy to get to for long journeys but will always consider the changes I have to make at the larger stations such as New Street. There doesn't seem to be any toilets here either, but most trains will have at least one.
