Took a print in to be framed the same as three others I had previously done here. They were unable to match frame, so had to go with similar design but different colour. Quality of framing was good once it was done. However, main concern was that the staff were unable to locate my prints on a number of occasions, when I visited to get an update. Seems very disorganised.
Made most welcome here. Lovely little craft shop which also sells a good section of cards and wrapping paper. Unusual gifts. Also sells colour and black & white framed prints of 'old' Gosport and Portsmouth. Definitely will visit here again.
A nice selection of artist materials. Closed mon and tue. Road parking sometimes available or behind Waitrose further into town.
I love my frames. Thank you so much.
Great service, friendly informative staff and reasonable prices.....this was a review I did three years ago. I am sad to say things have gone downhill. I took my parents' Diamond wedding card from the late Queen in to be mounted. We discussed options and agree the way forward. After four weeks with no communication, I popped in to see how things were going. The assistant could not find my item and asked me pop back, which I did 20 minutes later. I was greeted with the partially framed item, but not to the agreed specification. The lady who had made the draft framing told me she had only just put it together. I had to reexplain what was required and my details were taken again, as the original ticket had been lost. I gave a four week time frame and was told it would be done asap. Two weeks later I dropped by to check on progress as I had again heard nothing. My item could not be found and again I had to give my details. The next day I did hear from the gallery and the item was ready in the evening. I gathered it was done that day. I collected and was presented with the full bill. When I questioned whether this represented the good value given the lack of communication and lengthy time to process, I was eventually given a small discount. I will say the quality of the final product is excellent and would deserve five stars. The customer service experience however, has been well below par. I have had positive dealings with the gallery before, but this episode will mean I will not be making use of them in the future. Sad, as I like to support local businesses where possible.
Very nice little store with a wide product range. Warm and friendly staff and extremely helpful. Much to explore for art enthusiasts with pens, pencils, crayons, acrylics and paints and plenty of useful guide books for all levels of interest . I like this place as it also has picture framing to order; but is a tad too far for regular visits due to me living in West Yorkshire! Very happy with a gift wrap job too!! Thank you!
Stoke Gallery is worth a visit, the owner and her daughter seem very nice people and some interesting local art work by local artists, well worth a visit
Extremely friendly service. I was after a piece by local artist Neil Marshall. I phoned before my visit and they went out of their way to check their stock to see if they had it. To my joy they did. On collecting the picture the staff were extremely helpful. Will visit again.
I love this place because it has top quality art supplies and it also has a separate room for a lot of all ready painted paintings that look so nice. All the people that work there are so polite and they want to no how you got into it. I just feel that if your a drawer, artist, painter you should go there yourself and see how friendly the people are and the quality of there stuff.
I emailed Andy on a Monday afternoon begging for a framed print of BRNC to be sent to me! I needed it by Thursday for the long journey down to Dartmouth Friday! Just received the parcel and can't thank Andy enough for his great service and helping me out! Definitely recommend and a perfect gift for anyone commissioning into her majesty's armed forces.
