Generally good. Catering largely good.nFelt that in future, veggie, vegan and gluten free stuff should all be kept separate?nnBar staff and folks doing table stuff like tea, coffee and water were lovely.
This has gone downhill so much since being taken over by Everyone Active. I can only assume everyone is active except for the greens staff.nSeemingly nothing major was done on the main course over the winter months, with the exception of putting a bridge back in on the 16th. Which was put in by cowboys, because now when it rains, water pools in the middle of the bridge. So it won't be long before that is ruined.nOver winter, mats were used as temporary tees, but no tee boxes were worked on, the main tees are now in play and they are all ruined. They are extremely worn and they are not level.nnOn several occasions, divots had been taken out of greens and the divots had either been left, or some had been put back in. Hadn't been levelled or seeded at all.nnThe chipping green last weekend was an absolute disgrace. The cups had been left out and were just tossed to one side and there were huge divots taken out of it. The list goes on.nnI will not be renewing my membership here as it is just not enjoyable and they decided that it was in such good condition they could justify another price increase! I've just looked at green fees for a Saturday morning and they want £40 for a round here now!nnTrust me when I say, this course is not worth £40.
I left a really positive review a few weeks ago as the course was in the best condition it's been in for years, with seemingly good investment in to the course by new operators. However, I walked off after 14 holes the other day as the pair in front of me wouldn't let me play through. I also saw a three ball sharing two bags of clubs which slows the play down massively. Can I suggest the course makes more effort to make the local rules very clear to all golfers? You currently have to scan the qr code on the score care for local rules, where the first rule stated is 'Avoid Slow Play'. It's put me off returning to my local course.
PAR 3 COURSEnnPlease note that all the picture you see below are not the fairways, they're the greens! Entirely unplayable and the fact they can charge you whilst knowing how unplayable they are is a joke.nnSome greens were even 80% underwater but that was on the first and i didnt photograph as i though it would be a one off... i was wrong.nnDon't pay money to play this par three, you're better off not playing.
Talking only about golf coursennLayout was great! This place has a lot of potential. And we played very late in the day and only paid £15 for 18 holes. The value is fantastic.nnThere are some really great golf holes here. Well worth a visit But don’t expect perfect greens and teeboxes.nnNegatives would be overall condition. It’s okay. But not great. Greens were okay. But can see them getting better in the summer, they were just a bit uncut and bobbly. But for £15 worth It’s not bad, there are better greens in the area without a doubt. But then you looking at double if not triple the green fee.nnThe only real negative which I can see them easily fixing over a winter period were the tee-boxes. Really uneven! Seems to have been top dressed for years on end, but only where the divots normally occurmiddle of tee box so has now had the effect of doming just about every tee box, you rarely get and even tee shot. Which is a shame.nnStill worth a visit. The layout is fun and it’s £15 for 18 holes if you time the tee off right! Can’t ask for any cheaper than that around Hertfordshire.
