"The Stephanie Prior School of Dancing was founded in 1965 by Stephanie Prior and is now under the direction of her daughter, Tara Prior L.N.A.T.D.In 2009 Tara was operating from a small building not far from her current premises. In 2010 she purchased and converted a nearby building and gained further studios. She opened the doors to the new studios in 2011.Tara's philosophy is to continue her mothers dream and creation; to offer her students a safe, enjoyable environment where everybody is welcomed with a huge smile and normally a hug!"

My son and I both attend classes with Tara & Sally and have always felt part of the friendly, family yet professional atmosphere at SPSD. There’s a wide variety of classes on offer and all are run to a really high standard. The children can participate in exams as well as a fantastic show held every other year. There is a competition squad too who enter comps around the country. Tara works really hard to ensure all pupils feel safe, secure and happy in their classes and they all adore her. Very highly recommended!
Amazing dance school which my daughter has been attending for 11 years. Fantastic, professional and experienced teachers, led by Tara. SPSD is a lovely, nuturing environment, which encourages every student to reach for the stars and achieve to the best of their ability, it also provides some amazing opportunities. The dance shows aren’t to be missed! SPSD is a true dance family and one we are proud to be part of. Would highly recommend.
SPSD provides a fabulous all-inclusive service for anyone from the tots, teenagers, twenty-somethings and way beyond. Whether your objectives are simply to enjoy a good medley of Latin and ballroom moves, to keep fit or to pursue a career in dance, Tara and her team of friendly, experienced and motivated teachers will help you achieve them! The genres taught are extensive and cater for all abilities, enabled through thoughtful timetabling and a flexible approach. Tara and the team engender a truly comfortable, inclusive, relaxed and fun environment whilst maintaining a professional top-class teaching service. I have had the great pleasure of being part of SPSD for 20 years, and my three children and I continue to love being part of this rather unique dance family.
Amazing Dance School more than that really , fabulous teaching faculty , lovely studios and great range of classes on offer ! Tara & SPSD have given her dancers so many amazing opportunities and experiences over the years and I’m sure there will be many more to come !
Went here since I was about three loved it staff lovely everyone so nice.
A real ‘dance family’ - amazing teachers and supportive fellow students. We’ve been part of the family for over 8 years and can’t recommend it enough.
