We were in Cleethorpes and there is a myriad of eating places so we decided to ask Google which were the best and Steel's Corner House Restaurant was a prominent candidate so we decided to give it a go. What an excellent choice, thanks Google. I had the Jumbo Haddock and Chips and my wife had the medium version. It comes with 2 slices of bread and butter and a pot of tea with spare hot water enough to make 4 or 5 cups. Only thing is, the fish comes skin on but if you don't mind that, like me, it's great, you could ask them to skin it for you before cooking. The service staff know their stuff and it's obvious they're very good team. If we're ever back in Cleethorpes we'll certainly be back.

It's been in business for for over 40 years and is still popular with locals and holiday makers. Serves good selection of different types of food but has built up a reputation for its quality fish and chips,and that still holds true today.The menu is extensive and caters for a variety of taste's including a good selection of fish and seafood,steak,grills and vegetarian options plus desserts. It is a nice clean and well lit restaurant,with table service.Its pretty large with two floors and it's restrooms are clean and tidy. I had a whole plaice on the bone which was excellent,you can choose to have it either grilled,pan fried or battered and deep fried. The staff are very friendly and attentive. It also sells a selection of wine and some beer.It doesn't do take away options or delivery and reservations are recommended during peak periods. Unfortunately it's not able to accommodate wheelchair users. A very pleasant and cosy atmosphere good for dining alone or in group's,It has a children's menu making it family friendly.🇬🇧

We're some Canadian tourists that ended up just passing through Cleethorpes, and came across this place. Outstanding food, great service, and has a nice atmosphere. I can't say enough about this place. We were very happy with our meal there. Highly recommend to anyone.

As a veggie I can't comment on the fish but my some loved it and it looked like a textbook fully white fillet in good batter. Had a cheese omelette myself which was nice. If you like onion rings then try them here - massive ones fried in light batter. The place is like something from the 1960s I think on purpose and whilst you'd think this would attract the Brexit types of people who yearn for the old imperial days of England the clientele looked remarkably remain to me.

Gone downhill big style!! Clearly not even trying to keep up with the far superior competition. Went to Papa's on Tues evening, so feel well able to give fair opinion on both...Papa's wins by a country mile!! Food still good at Steels, though Beef Pie was by no means hot, just warm..and one meal ordered completely wrong and had to wait a long time for its replacement, everyone else almost finished, not nice to eat alone!!!! Staff seem to have lost interest, and the staff friendliness used to be a strong point. After being a loyal customer for too many years to count, I never thought the day would come when I'd say bye to Steels, but it has, and we did!! Papa's rules from now on!!
