The Steam Wheeler is the first of Marston's Scotland sites to offer a daily carvery, alongside an extensive menu including some local favourites.

Story

The Steam Wheeler is situated within close proximity to Braehead shopping centre and King George V Dock in Glasgow. The dock was constructed in 1931, the last major dock to be created on the River Clyde. The dock has excellent facilities and is close to the M8 motorway and rail links.

The Steam Wheeler is the first of our Scotland sites to offer a daily carvery, offering freshly prepared meats and seasonal vegetables alongside an extensive menu including some local favourites.

1st time & the service was excellent, very welcoming & friendly. A little odd that they seemed to pack the corner of the restaurant with people while the rest stayed empty but didn't spoil anything. The food was great, the cowboy burger was superb. A sharing platter of nachos, 3 burgers & 6 cokes came to £60 which seemed fine to me.

I stayed in the Premier Inn opposite for a week and frequented here for meals. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. I appreciated their conversation and speed of service.  The prices are good, especially for the carvery.  I knocked off a star because the quality of the food can be lacking. Definitely room for improvement here but it was not terrible or inedible.  It is a comfortable/relaxing setting and I was grateful to have this option so close to the hotel.  Scottish breakfast: £6.75 Large Carvery: £8.75

I didnt realise Hunters Chicken referred to the fact if have to go looking for the meat.  Genuinely hilarious effort at a Hunters Chicken, tiny portions of chicken and bacon, very little BBQ sauce, what was left of the onion ring bag, worst of all, just look at that salad.  Service was excellent though.

Nice pub, clean... good food and very tasty IPA. Will come back

Food was all very good, service quick and attentive.  Sat outside but inside looked good always.  Small screens showing sports inside.  Carvery was on and although we did not have that it looked high quality.  Recommended and will go again.

Excellent meal today at steam wheeler. We had steaks which were done exactly as we had asked for them to be done. Excellent service from all staff as always never had a bad meal at all staff always helpful and considerate. I have mobility issues and if I have the carvery always have help getting back to my seat with my dinner as I use a walking stick. Today it was Lindsey who attended to us very helpful and kind. As are all the staff. Thanks again for your service. We will be back.

Had the rump steak yesterday, cooked to perfection. I had peppercorn sauce with it and it was just perfect. The restaurant was warm, welcoming and the staff were amazing. The service was quick and easy, I was able to sit back and relax at my table and my food was brought out to me quickly. Drinks were cold and crisp in clean glasses.

Sunday dinner.  Fantastic STAFF. Very attentive, efficient, professional and fun.  Food was great.  Even the chef at the carvery made us feel as if it was a great treat!  £50 covered 3 dinners, drinks and a sweet.  I'm going back first chance I get.  It was my birthday and the girl at the door even remembered on my way out!  Thanks to every one of you

Eaten there twice now as am staying next door at premier inn and restaurant is poor so tried the carvery yesterday and was dam good and great service and tonite I had a mixed grill cooked to absolute perfection with quick seating and quick service from very polite staff very attentive and efficient so would highly recommend the steam wheeler to anybody staying in breahead

Had a fantastic evening meal here with my family. Service was fast and staff made sure to ask about any allergies we might have had. Lots of choice on the menu, which was great as my son is a very fussy eater. Food was served hot and tasted delicious It’s a beautiful pub and restaurant and we will be back again. Definitely recommend to everyone
