Good morning, Having read Star Windows’ reviews, I want to make it clear that they didn’t manufacture the door—it’s a product they’ve brought in. Nonetheless, they are responsible for it as the retailer. While some customers may have had good experiences with them, dealing with a product they only sell is a completely different experience, let me tell you that! I offered to collect the door, simply by unhinging it from the frame with just four screws. How much simpler could it be? And don’t forget, there’s your time and effort involved in this process, which any normal retailer would accept. What’s most disturbing is that when I gave notice of the next steps I would be taking legally as a consumer, they responded by threatening me with their legal team. They’re the ones in breach of trading laws, so bring it on—I’ll defend my rights all the way. My issue is with the owner, not the receptionists, who are very polite but are only following his orders. The owner hides behind them, and there’s no point in making an appointment to see him—he’s never there. And if you’re lucky enough to catch him, you’ll need earplugs before he walks off. There’s no reasoning here. Avoid him at all costs!
The window in my 3rd floor tenanted flat fell off on the evening of Storm ISHA Sat 20/01/24. Star window attended to assess and quote on Monday 22nd and new window installed in just over a week. The window was tilt&turn style so not many companies deal with that type of product. Ms Raj-the office lady kept me informed of progress throughout and Mr Singh the owner ensured a quick turnaround to what for me and my tenant was obviously an urgent situation. The whole process was hassle free. Very frieny and reliable team. Would highly recommend.
Had windows and large patio sliding doors installed a few yrs ago, sliding doors have been problematic since day one, in fairness star windows did come out to rectify, Problems have since got worse over time, mainly extremely draughty and significant heat loss to the point where you can’t sit near them during the winter months. I’ve resorted to infilling gaps with insulation and covering up draughty areas around the windows - see pics. Star windows want £70 to come out and ‘assess’, I’ve forwarded the pics to them with no response forthcoming. They claim to offer a 10 year guarantee but I’d question if this is the case. Internal Thermal bar poorly installed and cracked with obvious signs the frame is beginning to warp, again I’ve pointed this out to them but I was presented with radio silence. UPDATE: 25-04-2022 So someone from Star Windows has decided to respond, just to be absolutely clear I have NOT USED EXPANDING FOAM - look at the picture ! it’s simply loose quilt insulation from my loft to fill the gaps, can easily be removed by hand, how is this tampering with the installation/void the warranty ? The reason I resorted to doing this was because the install had failed in the first place. I note you haven’t commented on the cracked internal strip picture also posted, I guess this is my fault as well!? Buyer be aware ! Star Windows have clearly demonstrated their approach to customer service and there inability to understand the issue at hand. Also I understand you have a business to run and would be more then happy to pay a call out fee but if the issue is related to the installation why would you charge the client to fix a problem that’s not their fault?
Do not use star windows absolutely useless spent £2.900 on front door & rear patio front door leaks air from the outside yet iv paid 1500 for it Mr Singh is rude has never showed up and his is wife useless when you call her to tell her of the issues she tells you Mr Singh will come but never does. Staff are useless they ended up damaging the door plastic when installing it & never replaced it. Go elsewhere were as you will have end up with rubbish service from star windows.
Fitted my new composite door within 2 weeks. Very quick service. Love the door colour as well, black from outside and white from in. Thank you Star Windows
I placed an order. It was made the same day to a good quality. Friendly staff in the office and shop floor.
DO NOT PURCHASE anything from these people, ordered a window from them and had it fitted by a builder. The lock mechanism went after a few months and we called star windows out to have a look. A Mr Singh possibly owner turned up and was rude beyond belief he said well builders fitted it so go see them and don’t waste our time. Even though it’s the lock of the window that’s gone. He made that rude comment and walked out. Shocking!!!!
Writing this review on behalf of my parents. Wouldn't even give them a 1 star. I can concur with most of the reviews, having dealt with myself. They treat their customers shockingly. Turned up messed around with my door for 15mins, charged me £50 said he'd be back the next day no show. Rang up multiple times always giving excuses not to turn up. Do not use these people there a bunch or charlatans. Absolute shocking!
Their service was excellent. Turnaround time was much quicker than other companies I have used. Price was great too. Have already booked them for my next job.
I would not even give this company 1 star. Absolutely diabolical company. Used them on the recommendation from someone we trusted. Avoid at all costs. We had a sliding door and porch fitted by them. There were numerous issues which we showed them on numerous occasions, they still did not fix them. Instead we had Mr Singh shouting down at us on the phone requesting payment for the bodge job. The installers who came were rude, did not speak a word of English and insisted I make them tea and provide food for them. Please avoid this company at all costs.
