Lovely wee pub for a pint or two. Very friendly staff. Well worth a visit
Local pub with good food. We were a group of 8 and called ahead to ensure food was available.nWe were welcomed in by a cheery happy staff member and quickly had our drinks at the table while the food order was taken down.nThe atmosphere was friendly and homely.nFood arrived in good time and was very tasty and plenty of it. We enjoyed some extra drinks and then walked back down to our accomodation.nThoroughly recommend The Star for a super warm welcome and grand food.
Went for a family meal. We all had the steak pie, which was very lovely! Wine selection wasn't great, though as none of us knew much about wine it didn't matter too much, and the white wine we chose was nice. Sticky toffee pudding for desert was also tasty!nnThe room for dining was separated from the bar, and had an electric fire which made the atmosphere very cosy.
Very good indeed. Really varied menu. It happened to be steak night, so two of the company had sirloin steaks. They were incredible value & well cooked. The place was lovely. We would definitely go back & I would thoroughly recommend
