The staff and hospitality is excellent and very appreciated. On Sunday 18th September around 9am, I was welcomed by an amazing staff lady who found me a seat despite not having a reservation. There is focus and attention on ensuring that there are tables for everyone. The food is decent and there is a great selection. Seats are comfy and very clean.
This place is very nice, not that big, does not have a toilet you have to get out of the lounge to use one of the airport’s toilet……the people working in here are nice and friendly… they have a nice bar, good selection of sweet pastries , yogurts, juices , eggs, beens, etc…. Coffee is good…. I have not try the lunch menu only breakfast so far. You have to book in advance a table.
The location is somewhat remote and there are no toilets. The tables are a bit close together, but the food is really good, better than the breakfast buffet at the Hampton Hotel. There are various options for food and drinks and the single hour limit is supposed to be two or three hours, I'm not sure if paying for access is the economical option as I got in via credit card benefits
To outline my review -mediocre. Suitable for Stansted, average food, good selection of drinks. Relatively clean with some pockets where it looks like someone has eaten directly off the tables and chairs. Staff very friendly and attentive but overall the lounge is nothing to get excited about.
Once you get inside of this lounge, the place is actually very nice and not that crowded. But to get there, it's another story. I hadn't known that it's the best to have a paid reservation to get inside of the lounge. So I ended up waiting in a long queue in front of the lounge. Everybody was standing there at the corridor without any seats with a luggage. The lounge is close to toilets so the traffic on the corridor is big also because of that. I was more exhausted form waiting that from anything else. Staff working at the place is nice and the lady working at the entrance was also managing the situation nicely, trying to get inside everyone. She said that the problem was that a lot of people made the reservation on that day so the place was full. Once you get inside, you get your own table, even if it's a table for 1 person, as it was in my case. That makes it very comfortable for your stay here and I haven't seen this in any other lounge before.
Echoing George’s review from a few months ago! Visited around 7.30 on 6 Jan, the lady at the front desk seemed to still be waking up, but fantastic service from the bar staff and the gentleman that escorted us to our seats and showed us the lounge! Also a nice spread at the breakfast buffet.
Pros: The table was booked and waiting for me, drink selection is reasonable, furniture and decoration are basic but in a good shape, it is clean. Cons: Food selection and quality is poor. The crisps are stored in glass container and they smell like they were fried in diesel, the hot dishes are in the picture below, reach your own conclusion, the muffins were old and dry.
Staff very attentive and very professional but overall the lounge is nothing to get excited about. There's no toilets in the lounge. The lounge is good for Stansted, average food and good selection of drinks. Make sure you book before go to make sure you have a table available. Relatively clean with some pockets where it looks like someone has eaten directly off the table.
The staff are very sunny and the food is good. I was in the Marco Polo Lounge in Venice on Monday and the Escape Lounge puts it to shame. Fresh, hot food. The pork casserole is superb. Just like home made. A tribute to the chef. Marco Polo is smart but it’s all bread and sandwiches. Nothing tasty. Definitely not worth the 40€ each! Well done Stanstead!
Excellent spot away from the hustle and bustle of the main airport. You can actually lounge, have an beverage and even buffet breakfast or lunch. The Escape Lounge has its own wifi with free access. You are shown to your table or seating area and you are free to relax and wait for boarding in comfort and modern surroundings. Advanced booking is beneficial. Would definitely use it again.
