Stanley Park High School

Story

Stanley Park High School is a mixed government funded school in Carshalton in the London Borough of Sutton, England. In 2012, the school moved to a brand new £35m state of the art building in Damson Way, having previously been located in an older building on Stanley Park. It won the 2012 London Design Award for new build at the Education Business Award. The latest OFSTED inspection, from July 2013, rates the school with 'Requires Improvement' - although teaching, leadership and behaviour were rated 'Good'. The school still remains one of the best schools in London. The school was named the "Best Secondary School" in the country in the Times Educational Supplement 2016 Awards. TES described the school as having achieved "remarkable outcomes for its student body by focusing on igniting their passion for learning." The judges were "impressed by the creative, ambitious and supportive culture fostered at Stanley Park". They noted: "At a time of huge pressure on schools, the submission from Stanley Park High made it obvious that the welfare and wellbeing of the children comes above anything else."In this school, there is a further sub-division into 4 mini schools. Trade, Performance, World and Horizon. They are divided on the basis of the subjects they teach. Subjects vary depending upon the interests and capability of students. But its not important that a student interested in music is certain to go in Performance. The concept of mini-schools makes Stanley Park better in brightening the future of its students.

I go to this school and it has good and bad points. The students here are very creative and interact with each other a lot and some of the teachers are very good, however there are a lot of flaws. For example, some teachers give unreasonable punishments and blame others for there own mistakes ( as other reviews say as well ). There are also a lot of fights and they don't deal with it well at all. There are lots of clubs and good ideas in this school but they need to improve in many ways. ( I am only year 7 so I do not have the most experience )

I am 14 and I go to this school and all I can say is please, if you can, go to a different school. Most of the teachers are insecure babies who can't take the blame for their own mistakes and shall only place blame on students, sometimes for reason but mostly for no reason. One of the headteachers who I shan't name is a giant bully who shall blame others for his mistakes and refuse to listen to reason, I've seen many a student fall victim to his passive aggression such as them merely walking by and to which he replies with "blind". He can and WILL get away with this since everyone is afraid of him, his temper and most importantly his power [one simple thing and you're expelled by this man]. If you love bad tempered children and teachers who are no better, a base for autistic kids who at the start weren't even allowed into mainstream except for lunch (I'm not making this up, they locked the doors to stop them escaping like some sick prison) and students who most likely have bad mental state due to a pedophile once teaching here, then I highly recommend this school.

Bad school , they have drunk and phedophile teachers who shout at you for their mistakes. The older children smoke in front of the year 7s in school premises and graffiti out side the school This school is very bad I don't recommend it to anyone at all PLEASE SHUT DOWN THIS SCHOOL OR IMPROVE IT IMMEDIATELY

Well good day to all who may plan to join this "Lovely" school. As Adolf Hitler once said "Demoralise the enemy from within" and this school knows how to Demoralise its students . This school treats its student's not like dirt, but worse. The teachers are completely incapable of handling a class and teaching them too. But "The victor will never be asked if he told the truth" and in this case the school will always stand as the victor blaming its students for their own downfall and not looking at its teaching and its attitude towards the students. The headmaster does nothing but fire the good teachers and allow all manners of terror the enter the school, if that takes the form of a paedophile or drunk teachers. This school treats it's students like the Jews in Nazi Germany. So if you would like to join this school go ahead, but let it be warned that “Life doesn't forgive weakness”, and to go to this school will only bred weakness into you.
