Good train station. I enjoyed my trip through this route.
Hate this place, was just finishing having a wee and walked out and some train attendant was dropkicking me Nan, heard his name was Steve or sommit. Went over to defuse the situation but He wasn’t having any of it, started pushing prams over and shouting abuse at old men which I recall was “you probably can’t even get it up anymore”. Not a good experience.
Great old station with loads of character and a unique buffet bar
Possibly my most favourite train station I’ve visited. Can I just say one thing I do love is how beautifully kept the toilets are. The women’s is always clean and smells absolutely stunning. Whoever takes care of them has my respect!
All usual facilities, try arrive early and go to the famous buffet bar for a few quality real ales and lagers and the waiting for the inevitable " sorry to announce message won't be such a bad thing for once!!
Good station with a cafe and bar. Recently refurbished so comfortable. Good pickup and drop off space. It does get busy at peak times.
Stalybridge is a good station. There is a ticket office, racks of information and a car park. Bus stops are nearby as is a pub. On station are toilets, a cafe / bar and waiting rooms. The service to Manchester Piccadilly is non stop, a pick up service is needed or to be provided with a service to Chester via Stockport providing a change at Guide Bridge. The service between Manchester Victoria and Huddersfield is pick up.
There is a nasty habit for Manchester-bound trains that are running late to be cancelled at Stalybridge with no alternative travel available for a long time, and with the station facilities becoming very crowded as a result. Beware!
Nice little station close to good transport links not to busy and staff are always lovely and helpful
It is always a pleasure using this train station because of the staff.Always so helpful,polite and funny too.Facilities are good too and it's always pretty clean.
