Bus services are horrific. Buses are late 9/10 and everyday this week at least one bus out of two services I could get have been cancelled. Last week two after the other in the same service were cancelled. It’s not good enough. It’s absolutely atrocious. The price goes up but the service quality goes down. The buses are always filthy, outside and in, it’s hard to see where your stop is at night which doesn’t matter anyway since the drivers don’t always listen to the stop bell and just drive past it anyway.nYou cannot blame roadworks or traffic when it is a recurring issue. At that point it is the fault of bus provider to combat that issue by putting out buses more often during the times that they are most frequently late.nI am sick to death of ending up late everywhere just because of the buses, because even when I get an earlier bus that usually ends up late cancelled or just fully not turning up.nThe app is a complete joke and never tells the truth, often saying a bus is late or on time then the bus just doesn’t turn up at all, so you are left confused wondering when the next bus will be because you cannot trust the app. And if you can’t trust the apps you obviously cannot trust the printed out timetables on the bus stops which are on the rare few stops to begin with.
On the 7.11.24 at 630 pm Maryport to Carlisle 300 bus. 530 pm did not turn up or departed early. I waited for an hour for 630 pm bus . I am registered disabled and have disabled pass. The machine was not registering my pass and the driver had a face like thunder. He put pass through machine without saying a word.nIt is not my fault as some of the machines are temperamental. He looked at me like I was dirt. The bus was empty.nThis driver on the 630 pm bus should not be allowed near the public. .nI will be looking out for this driver and if he behaves like this again will complain to Stagecoach.nShame on Stagecoach and the driver
Appalling and disgusting company. My 11 year old daughter and her school friend got on the wrongly marked bus. When they realised they were on the wrong bus they were in longtown. The driver then decided to dump them outside CAD Longtown, literally in the middle of nowhere. It was cold and getting dark, and in a poor phone signal area. I then went on an hour long search of Longtown trying to find them and being directed to 2 wrong bus stops in Longtown itself, by stagecoach. I found therm eventually in a sold wooden bus shelter in the middle of nowhere, no streetlights.nStagecoach showed a complete disregard for their duty of care to vulnerable people and minors, and their lack of immediate response, or even grasping the gravity of the situation they caused is just inexcusable. I would have thought a manager would have showed some concern and phoned to see if they were at least found?
Yet again, another 35 minute wait for the 79 bus into town because the scheduled service didn't turn up till a couple of minutes before the next scheduled service. Bus full and standing room only. Two 79 service running into town at the same time. This happens routinely. Unreliable service, app and timetable barcode shows service running on time when it's not, so it's not a live tracker. Come on Stagecoach, too many bad reviews which are constant and demonstrate that you're not acting on the complaints. Sort yourselves out and get a new Director, who actually cares enough to do the right thing for customers by being proactive in getting things done, and manage this rubbish service.
Good service pleasant courteous drivers. Only problem was not sure in which bay the bus was to depart from. Seemed to vary each day
