What a cool pub : stopped in with my parents after walking Hadrian's Trail. Very warm and welcoming and the staff were lovely
We stayed at The Stag Inn at the weekend, in Low Crosby near Carlisle. It was our best stop over so far. Free parking at rear of pub. Nothing was too much, even catered for our puppy, Eddie. We got there just after 8, even though they stop serving food at 8, we were still able to order food. The steak pie was probably the best steak pie we'd ever had, and we were even offered dessert. Breakfast was a true belly buster, really nice too. We said we will be back for a visit in June, but I can see it being sooner. Thanks to all of the staff and guests who made us feel really welcome. Keep up the good work and see yous soon. Nat, rob and Eddie.

A great little country pub steeped in local history and haunted to boot !! Lovely pub grub and great hospitality. Also a fantastic stop for Hadrians Wall Walkers!
We had the best night ever with everyone up and dancing on Saturday 22nd October. Amazingly friendly staff and everyone else who was visiting the pub! Will definitely be back! The drinks were great too from what I remember
Good stop off for people on the Hadrian's wall path. Basic menu. Lovely pub. Hosts wonderful. Very cosy. Nice drinks. Fair prices. Menu needs a bit more effort. But wish them all the best as it's great to see it open again.
Stopped here for a late lunch after visiting hadrians wall and the solway aviation museum. Food was fab, we had cheese & onion toasties with fries and our son had chicken nuggets and chips. Lovely pub, great hosts would definitely recommend
A lovely little rural pub with a outdoor seating area and off street parking. Has a lovely old feel to it with exposed wooden beams and a nice cosy feel to it. I went with my partner for a private function where they closed the pub just for our group and it was very pleasant. The food was a homemade finger buffet type thing but there was more then enough for us all and the selection of drinks was excellent, my only gripe and it a very minor one to most is i would have liked a selection of alcohol free drinks other then the usual tea, coffee, soft drinks. UPDATE i must of not seen the drinks or mistook them..... didnt ask because the gentleman serving us was busy so thats my bad, sorry As of this review ive been told its been taken over by a local couple who are respected in the village and are putting there all into it and it shows, if your in the area give it a try and you may just find its one of the "hidden gems" you sometimes find off the beaten track.
Haven't been to the Stag for 40 years!!! Food excellent service superb. It won't be another 40 before we are back.
Recently got new owners, good food, very busy and provides entertainment. Has parking.
