Straight away from entering the hospital you are greeted with a warm and welcoming smile. A spotless clean waiting room. Your appointment runs smoothly and on time. A consultant who is so kind and explains things in terms you can understand without coming across as condescending and his nurse who so kind. They were so kind and patient with me even though I talked alot and went off tangent. They listened and. I was never meant to feel less than and for that alone I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
First visit today to see a family member. Such a welcoming place, every member of staff were so helpful and caring with every patient. Took the time to talk and find out about our family member so they could give them the best possible care. Wonderful experience.
I had need to go to St Oswald this morning. What excellent staff from start to finish, I arrived at 1:10pm by 1:25pm I had been seen and antibiotics had been prescribed. Thank you to all the staff.
I have been to this hospital for 4 or 5 appointments. Staff are very welcoming and consultant is brilliant, great parking.
Okeover WardnnPositives: free car parking, very clean and tidy, patient meals are excellent, building has had a refurb and there are some very helpful staff.nnNegatives: I’ve been in a lot of care settings, for long periods of time, but never experienced a place where some staff appear to have so much free time to chitchat about their personal lives between themselves, and aren’t helpful when you disturb them to ask something. Communication from staff can also be pretty poor and one person was particularly rude. I wouldn’t mind but they neglected to provide bed-bath/shower over several weeks and the patient’s skin became spotty; also developed thick scurf on the scalp. No physio was done which is what the patient had gone in for and equipment was frequently broken so patient had to remain in bed.nnAside from the few very helpful and caring staff, there’s a clicky and lazy culture that’s been allowed to go unmanaged. When talking to other relatives of patients they made the same observations….’all the gear but no idea’, ‘the place looks great but they don’t actually do much’.
