I read up about this place and it sounded fantastic with its fantastic menu menu and I was so excited about going there, but when I arrived there were people out there on the tables which were quite intimidating and the cigarette butt's that were thrown down on the lovely cobeld cort yard was beyond belief. They inprecion I got put me straight off and it was such a shame because on the net it looked a fantastic venue. Me and my friends decided to go to doe and oil instead and we are so glad we did because it was fantastic.
Today we took our young lady out for dinner since lock down in 2020, and it was excellent the staff were great and nothing was too much trouble, food was excellent we would recommend very highly. Thank you. The owners Tracey and Ed are in the picture with our young lady who really enjoyed her day.
Had lunch here and it was beautiful. Got real food envy seeing other meals coming out The staff were very friendly and attentive. Would definitely visit again
A good conversion of an old building retaining some unique features. The room was small but had everything I wanted in it. The bed was comfortable. The shower worked well, and the supplied towels, tolietries etc were all good. The staff were friendly and helpful. The lift was OK but a bit slow to get to the 3rd floor where the rooms are. The food was OK but not particularly special. I thought this sort of hotel could have tried harder to use and emphasise local ingredients. I will stay again but would probably eat out.
Great place to eat and drink .Fantastic atmosphere, very welcoming even though we weren't locals. We enjoyed the experience that much we went back the next day. Many thanks.
It was lovely but unfortunately despite being a little time ago the sauna was.not working and my massage was done by a male without asking if this was OK. If I'd been asked I might have prepared myself, however I did feel very self conscious and uncomfortable
Very welcoming. Had the chicken kebab, oh my word, so delicious, but absolutely huge. Definitely worth a visit.
Great night out. Top quality grub & a fair price. Wonderful experience, friendly attentive staff. Highly recommend.
After our Christmas works meal last weekend every single staff member made a comment on how great the food was so thank you, we really did feel taken care of and the food was lovely. I would highly recommend this place to friends and family.Service: 5/5
We stayed at the family run St Nicholas Hotel over Christmas. We were welcomed on arrival and shown to our room. We stayed in the Moet et Chandon room which is very comfortable, except for a window that didn't close. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff or were very friendly. We had a lovely full English breakfast christmas morning and joined the family and their friends for a gorgeous buffet lunch which was outstanding and all the homemade desserts were delicious. IT is only 5 min from railway station which was handy for us. All in all a great stay at a lovely friendly hotel. Only one thing that was annoying was the lift was not working and it was quite a hike up a stone spiral staircase to our room 66 steps, but as it was Christmas break we understood that the engineer couldn't come out to fix it. Would visit again
