Attractive 18th century windmill originally built to supply seawater to the salt pans just below it.nThe windmill was restored in the late 20th century and today stands as a distinctive landmark on the Fife Coastal Path between St Monans and Pittenweem. The windmill enjoys great views across the sea to the hills on the horizon. It's an easy walk from either town on a well maintained path.nTwo very informative boards have been provided at the windmill outlining things to see in the local area, and the history of salt production.

Interesting historical windmill with some nice walks on the coast at St Monans. It is free to visit although you can't see inside. There are plenty of information boards in the area though.

Never even knew St Monans had a windmill! Unfortunately, it was closed when we were there.  The salt pans next to it are interesting. The walk from Elie to St Monans was really interesting and well worth it!

Closed due to Covid restrictions but the two uniformed coastal officers were very friendly and helpful about the windmills original use and operation.nNip up the steps and have a quick chat to them.

Museum was closed at the time, but it has awesome view around.
