Stayed here as a patient in May and June '24. All staff sought a good outcome for me at all times. I told them all I could about my condition, and we worked together on lifestyle choices and medication. The treatment was excellent. Food was decent and the ward was clean. Given the negative factors impacting the NHS I'm very impressed. All staff - nurses, cleaners, HCAs and doctors - they all cared for me. Thank you.
I spent just over a week as an in-patient here and was very well looked after - the staff were marvellous and the food was excellent! I came out feeling a lot better and have continued that way.
I have been in the psychotherapy service at The Pines part of St Michaels Hospital since 2018. It may seem like between then and now, much time has passed, but I have complex needs and an extreme lengthy history of chronic trauma. In addition to the psychotherapy, my heroine psychotherapist has connected me to other services that have benefited me.nnThey have made reasonable adjustments that accommodate the challenging mobility and face-to-face needs that I have, ensuring that I am always able to access therapies. I find that although the topics are traumatic I’m always made to smile at some point during the appointment.nnIt has been a long journey for me and will continue to be, but thanks to this service, my psychotherapist and her initiative, I’m moving onward in baby steps.nnThe NHS has been through a pandemic and is battling a fundamental crisis staff shortages, strikes, financial struggles. The staff have long mentally, physically, and emotionally draining hours, high demands with patient lists, and heavy workloads.nnOn top of this? They hear very distressing stories daily — they are exemplary. From my experience, despite my psychotherapist being under intense pressure, she never stops giving it 100 %.nnThank you to her, the Pines and the NHS Coventry and Warwickshire mental health teams for their service. I genuinely appreciate them and owe them this compliment.nnYes, “it’s their job”, but they chose the job — to selflessly help others and take on these difficult roles. It is also unfair to blame an entire unit for the poor standards/or behaviour of individuals.nnAt no point would the staff I encounter endanger me or neglect me.nnThey have supported me in areas outside of their roles income, housing, etc. From my experience? They go above and beyond.nnRespectfully, if you are unfortunate enough to feel abused as a patient? You can contact your GP or file a complaint to the Hospital or Care Quality Commission. Abuse is also a criminal offence, and if you have a carer/or outside support network, have them report directly to Warwickshire Police.nnA variety of legislations grant protection to you. You can take legal action — have an advocate which can be a friend or family member make contact with the citizen's advice.
Forced on to medication I don't need staff locking themself in safety while patients allowed to attack others drugs on the ward staff taking patients down after hours to smoke crack pipes parents begging to let there children home seeing the abuse and effects of medication forced on them patients left for weeks in the same clothes staff throwing them round the hall ways never seen so much abuse on my life pure evil heartless staff never ever put your family here
The daytime staff here do an excellent job, they work all hours around the clock helping others for a low wage. Unfortunately the same can't be said for the agency night staff and management who choose to serve free masonry instead of god.
