We were a group of 18 golfers, this resort did not disappoint. Communication and booking process was faultless, our rooms were clean and comfortable and all next each other on a long balcony overlooking the 18th. Food was okay and service was good, the courses were superb. Both courses stunning but the Nicklaus was a different animal, we have done 12 trips all over Europe and we all agreed this venue was up there as one of the best. We will be back!
Did not book a room so can't comment on that.Attended for a wedding reception. Beautiful decorated , music was pretty good but some choices led to a nearly empty dance floor.Could have gauged the room better and reverted to classic floor fillers.Bar staff very polite and helpful.Prices slightly high but would expect that at a quality golf establishment. Only 25 minutes from Plymouth.Would imagine it would look stunning on a sunny day.Thoroughly enjoyed my visit.
Good air con for the heat wave. Nice food. Private room for function. Easy parking. Lovely views. Good roads to get to it. Disabled parking with ground floor access to function room and disabled bathrooms. We did not use the pool facilities but others commented they were v good.
Stayed for one night as attending a wedding elsewhere, pool and Spa good. Breakfast was lovely however was very slow for buffet items to be replaced! Not a golfer but was very busy with golfers.Rooms: 3/5
Great nights sleep, clearly the golf facilities are outstanding but unfortunately for us we found the staff a little bit fed up Must be the time of year. Food average and over priced £7 for a breakfast roll!!Rooms: 5/5
We stayed in a timeshare cottage here, which, like the whole complex was showing its age. Pros: the food offering was good; the staff were generally friendly and helpful. Cons: all the indoor facilities swimming pool, gym, bar and restaurants were accessed down a flight of stairs. The lift was long term out of commission because, we were told, its age made getting parts difficult. My wife has mobility problems which meant the stairs were a huge hurdle to negotiate. We gave up after finding the swimming pool changing rooms were on upgrade and the inadequate temporary offering was a long, cold trek away. A few of the many hiccups with the cottage: a bedroom window latch was broken allowing egress of rain and wind; the bathroom ceiling was growing mould; the gutter overflowed and bucketted rain across the bedroom patio doors; one of the living room radiators was unuseable since it was missing a control knob; the TV had huge pixelation problems rendering it unuseable. We sought correction of a couple of problems, were promised action, but nothing happened. We left a day early after paying the £52 electricity bill.
Played the Kurnow course and was told there was maintenance so instead of £45 it was £30. “Bit of sand on the greens” was what I was told…….wasn’t expecting about 6 temporary greens which drastically changed quite a few holes. One par4 was 150 yards shorter. Two holes with water had temporary greens before the water even came into play……Not great. The greens that were useable were running nice, it’s just a shame to not really get the full experience whilst here. Staff in the pro shop and starter hut were friendly and welcoming tho. Views were nice. Food and drinks definitely overpriced for what they are. £7 for a gunners…..sheesh. £7 for squid that obviously comes frozen out of a bag…..not good. The place is fine but I wouldn’t go out of my way to come back.
Stayed in one of the lodges and was impressed with every aspect of our stay. The staff were welcoming and helpful throughout and the accommodation was excellent.Rooms: 5/5
Today I had booked a treatment in the spar using a £50.00 voucher that my son had paid for in Dec 2021. I did not have the voucher, only the receipt. I was refused my treatment initially because I only had the receipt. On checking I was then told that the voucher was one month out of date anyway. The receipt did not mention an expiry date. The duty manager made me feel like a liar. He checked again and phoned me to tell me that I could not have my treatment because my ‘ invisible voucher’ was indeed one month out of date.
We played the Nicklaus course, what a gem, I’m left wondering why it took me so long to play it !? It’s only 10 mins from Plymouth. A truly memorable day, we will be back soon I’ve returned in Feb 2023 with a few friends for the deal of all deals, we stayed over Sunday night played the Nicklaus course Sunday and Kernow Monday, we had perfect sunshine both days and once again thoroughly enjoyed our stay….We will be back to test ourselves once more soon.
