I visited St Matthews as I have just found out that my Grandmother was married there in 1919. Unfortunately the church was closed, they open two mornings for about 90 minutes. I would have loved to see inside with it being the hundredth year since their wedding, maybe in the spring. It is set in the absolute best position in the village with lovely views across the countryside.
WENT TO FRIENDS FUNERAL LAST TUESDAY I SAT AT THE BACK WITH A FRIEND RIGHT BESIDE THE CD PLAYER PLENTY OF ROOM FOR HIM TO PLAY MUSIC A LADY APPROACHED US AND TOLD US THERE IS ROOM AT THE FRONT AND SIDES OF THE CHURCH WE CAN'T SIT THERE I TOLD HER THERE IS PLENTY OF ROOM FOR YOU AND THE MUSIC MAN SHE WAS A VERY UNPLESANT WOMAN AS SHE SAID THE VICAR WONT BE HAPPY I TOLD HER IT'S NOT THE VICARS CHURCH IT'S THE COMMUNITY'S CHURCH 2 TABLES AT THE BACK OF THE CHURCH SHOULD OF BEEN RE-ARRANGED SILLY LADY
