The owner double booked our group of 14 guests with another group. He claimed this is Airbnb fault but from the other reviews this has been happening for a long time and is clearly just trying to find a way to make more money.nnApart from that, the heater was not working in any of the second floor rooms. In the middle of January almost everyone was freezing all night due to the rooms being about 16 degrees. The next day we asked the owner to please fix this and he said he came by and checked and that heater was working now. That was a lie, rooms were just as cold as night before, we had to go buy room heaters.nnDefinitely avoid this location!
This property is ideal for a big group with plenty of space and plenty of bathrooms. Arthur was very helpful on our arrival and gave us a tour of the property. Ideally we would have liked to have been closer to Edinburgh as it is 40 minute drive but the positive with this house it’s near to the coast so you have a lovely walk to the beach that is accessible and not too strenuous. There are plenty of plates, cutlery etc. Only improvement we would suggest would to have the fridge and cupboards emptied of prior food but this may have been due to the fact we arrived early. As a whole the property was lovely. Hot tub was hard to use but I’m not good with technical things. We would definitely use Arthur again if we are ever coming this way as a big group. Also a note for any questions bus stop is near by with frequent buses to Edinburgh and there’s a Asda near by for any food needs.nP.s. Milo Arthur’s dog is very very cute!
SCAM & FRAUD. DO NOT BOOKnnMy maid of honour booked this in July last year for my hen do in Feb of this year only to have the booking for 16 people cancelled the Wednesday before the Friday arrival. No refund has been forthcoming and the owner is not communicating nor sending the refund four figures. Would avoid at all costs.
Terrible experience - I was shocked when I was told that whoever runs St Martins House Apartments had given my booking to another person who’d offered to take the whole place despite me booking it 7 months earlier so we could attend a wedding. I might not have been so upset if I’d been told in reasonable time but I wasn’t. They took my money and didn’t tell me until less than 24hrs before we were supposed to arrive. Even then they didn’t have the decency to message me direct to say they’d bumped me for a better offer - they left it to the poor customer service person at the intermediary site to try to sort it out. I messaged them but of course no apology, in fact no reply at all. There was no other accommodation available nearby at such short notice so we had to change all our plans. If you only book one room and not the whole place be prepared for them to do the same thing to you.
DO NOT BOOK. Booked months in advance and confirmed with the owners a week before and day before arriving that everything was ok, only to arrive on the day and the house had been double booked. As you can imagine everyone was very upset, especially as we were a group of 19 so finding anything else would be a struggle. We were offered another house, however this was definitely not as nice as the first and hadn’t been cleaned properly so decided against this and to sort on our own. The owner was very rude and apparently does this very often. One of the WORST experiences! AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
