My daughter was there for nearly six weeks the staff there are amazing so caring and compassionate and they work hard when they have many challenges and they are very kind and communicate well with family they made my daughter feel safe whilst being unwell and helped her so much and being a visitor when seeing my daughter I saw wat challenges the nurses faced they worked hard and still remained professional.i am so grateful as a parent to be so reassured that my daughter was looked after and she also felt safe and able to get better and guided I cannot express my gratitude to the team at fern ward there all amazing and my daughter also felt that she was cared for and although she still has a journey the kindness and patience from staff has helped her trust again so thankyou fern ward team yr amazing
Staff made fun of patients, starved myself and when declined food again was told “good”, beautiful place, horrible people, good facilities, cruel staff, let themselves in my room and went through belongings unnecessarily. Staff member gave me jump scare intentionally, doctor gave 5 minute assessment and discharged as I “look normal”. Main doctor doesn’t listen. Patient told me they had things stolen by staff also.
Food is ok. Some staff are ok.nnI have had terrible experience with 'Doctor Umoh' and the other assessors that were in the room with him. He should not be working as a Doctor or in healthcare, he ignores everything and will laugh at you. He is incompetent and forces medication onto people when they say they will not take it and it is traumatising and unnecessary , ignores their human rights.nnI have also witnessed some nurses abusing a patient multiple times and some not even trying to understand what a person is saying for hours, just ignoring them or not replying when they say something. Some staff will laugh at patients when they're crying and saying they want to die. There is more I could type here but I won't
My daughter is currently on this ward. She is and has been for years a strict vegan. This evening they did not wake her for dinner after she fell asleep. They then offered her toast and ham, stating to her dad when he phoned that this was nutritious. He tried in a calm manner to reason with them to no avail. The nurse was shouting down the phone at him. Very professional. She then put the phone down on him. Again, very professional. They are as toxic as the plant they are named after foxglove digitalis
Being on both female wards, I can honestly say after being discharged today that the nursing team on both foxglove and Fern ward, are amazing. They advocate for you and will always listen.nnFoxglove, thank you for taking my physical health seriously enough to send me to general hospital when I needed it. And for sticking by me every step of the way. Amy, Amie, Annette, Naomi, Dr Lawson and many more are simply amazing and caring. They really helped with my recovery.nnFern ward, all staff, especially nurse Katie are all so amazing and wonderful and always listened to my concerns or sad spells, always managing to cheer me up, and reassure me over my current physical health concerns. Dr Umar, thank you, for listening to me and discharging me the way you did. It was easy, efficient and done in good gesture.
