Really beautiful Anglican Church that seamlessly blends the ancient & modern to provide a wonderful visitor experience.nnWhatever your faith or none, St Lawrence's is well worth a visit while you're in Ludlow, super shop & very competitively priced tea, coffee & local cakes too.nnEasy 5 stars *****
Beautiful church with wonderful acoustics, singing here on Saturday from the choir stalls was a delight. During the day the church is busy with lots of volunteers to advise you and a superb little café serving beverages, pastries and soup. I can thoroughly recommend the soup.nnI was fortunate enough to attend the lunchtime organ recital with Angela Sones. Angela - the Duruflé was exquisite!
Ludlow itself is very nice but the Church is the standout place for me. Lovely interior and beautifully detailed. Friendly staff and very nice shop inside to boot.
Fantastic church, a cathedral in all but name. Very helpful church warden with lovely stewards too. Tower was worth the £5 per person to go up as the climb and the views were great!
This church is a fascinating building full of history across hundreds of years. It remains an important place of worship and is also a significant amenity that sits at the heart of Ludlow centre. It offers its visitors an insight into the lives of previous citizens and the wider history of the area. The volunteer staff are extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the church and there is a small shop and café allowing visitors to linger a while and soak up the atmosphere of this fabulous building.nIt's also worth taking a trip to the top of the tower to enjoy the views over the Shropshire countryside, and also hear the peal of bells from the carillon at certain times of the day. Definitely worth a visit. Entry is free, and there is a small charge to climb the tower to the roof 201 steps!
