It was really a good experience during my wife whole pregnancy journey from antenatal scan to delivered a baby. We want to appreciate all the staff who take care through out the journey. The food was so good and delicious that we don't need to order from outside. Once again thank you very much for all the care and good service.
I attended St James’s Hospital on 24-25/02 and had one of the most distressing healthcare experiences I have ever had.nnI was required to expose myself twice and was told privacy measures could not be used because I “needed to be monitored.” I did not feel my dignity or consent were respected.nnTwo nurses continued attempting procedures after I asked them to stop. A porter moved me between rooms and became aggressive when I asked him to wait for my partner. I felt handled roughly and spoken to in a hostile manner.nnMost concerning, I informed staff that I am allergic to codeine, yet I was prescribed codeine phosphate. Being given medication I have clearly stated I am allergic to is extremely alarming and raises serious patient safety concerns.nnAs someone who pays for my healthcare and medication, I expect safe, respectful treatment. That standard was not met.nnI have formally raised this with PALS and expect a thorough investigation.nnPatients deserve to feel safe and heard. They treat people like animals here and I’m seeking legal action. Disgusting people
On Monday of this week, I had to attend the Emergency Eye Clinic. I was so impressed by how sensitively and swiftly I was dealt with.nnWhen I arrived, I was greeted well and from that point onwards, I progressed through various stages seamlessly. As soon as the consultants saw how urgent the treatment was, I felt 100% confident in the resolution.nnThe purpose of this post is only to say a big THANK YOU to everyone at the Clinic.
My review is only for the paramedics that took me to hospital - Molly and Isaac. I have had a bad experience with 2 other paramedics at St James before and I was honestly terrified. But Isaac and Molly were so lovely and conversational and I felt entirely comfortable and looked after, and did an amazing job. It was nice to actually get along with them as people and know I was in safe hands. Genuinely cannot thank them enough - they're an asset to the hospital.

The doctors and staff are caring, attentive, and take time to explain everything clearly, which helps patients feel reassured and well supported. The hospital is well-organized, clean, and efficiently managed despite being very busy. I am very satisfied with the level of care and professionalism and would highly recommend St James's University Hospital to anyone in need of reliable and high-quality medical treatment.
