Long story short, Went to get a pcos diagnosis as i was anemic, had very heavy periods, facial hair, weight gain etc sent for blood test, just got told I was fat, 'you just need to lose some weight' then got looked up and down and sarcastically she added 'if you can do that'. There was no further followup. Went again because everything was worse. She sent me for the wrong test, only showed i was anemic. No follow up, no recommendations. I changed doctor in the practice and said my symptoms. She immediately sent me for a proper blood test and a scan. The scan showed I had pcos and a 12.5cm fibroid tumor with degeneration on my uterus which may cause me not to be able to have children. If this had been caught when I first went the year prior it would have been able to be dealt with without affecting my work/mental and physical health. Then got fobbed onto a gyno which I'm yet to see as the doctor wasn't comfortable prescribing a pcos medication because it had a side effect that could shrink fibroids which is why I wanted it. I have both conditions but have had to wait months just for a consultation. Today's issue was the rude receptionist. Cutting me off because i said I had an issue with my tooth. She rightly said they don't deal with teeth but she cut me off every time I was trying to say I have a dentist appointment on Monday and just needed a prescription for pain killers stronger than over the counter ones not erythromycin etc as i have 8/9 on the painscale and that I needed to come in to do that as they can't do prescriptions over the phone. Instead talked over me over and over again.
I have used this surgery for over 30 years, they have some really good GPs and nursing staff, receptionist are helpful but can be stressed due to high demand of phone calls and patients at front desk starring at them for attention which i always do,but always buy them their favourite biscuits at Christmas for compensation purposes. If you have any complaints,it's always best to ask for the manager who is always happy to solve any problems.
Generally pretty good! Doctors and nurse have been friendly and receptionist staff are helpful, just can be hard to get through on the phone! It’s a nice building too, though some areas especially upstairs could do with a bit of a refresh. My only issue has been the e-consult process isn’t very good at communicating with you - you get prescribed things without even being told you have.
Ive been to a few drs over the years and so far this has been one of the better drs I have been with , they are quite thorough and the reception although they do tend to take a long time to answer despite being the only one in the que , when you do get through they do their level best to fit you in .
They had a guest doctor who was vile to me back in like 2015 - said he had been a dr longer than I’d been alive and dismissed and laughed at my problems. Years of tests later and I was right about my health, but that dr was long gone so it didn’t matter to him. I use their E-consult to avoid their phone lines which are always very busy, but I often receive no response. 19th Dec 2022 on the phone for about 2 hours for prescription enquiry and it turns out the person answering the phone was on sick leave so the phone was just left to ring. When I went through to reception I was laughed at for being in the phone queue for 2 hours and I wasn’t the first one to say something about the long wait. I am continually disappointed by this practice. Getting a prescription is very difficult, I’ve been on iron for a long time and it is a headache every time my prescription runs out. They will claim to have sent my prescription and I’ll have to keep calling as days-weeks go by and they haven’t done it. Never received an apology or anything.
I am thankful that I don’t see my GP very often, I have been once in the last 3 years and 2 years prior to that visit so I really do not understand why the reception staff are so rude. They are so aggressive and unhelpful so I genuinely avoid calling the practice. It just doesn’t have to be this way and I wish the practice would address it, I am always polite and cordial and I am always met with aggression and spoken to like a naughty child
So helpful. Their online E-consult is so quick to use, and usually ends up In a telephone consultation within a few days. They’re been really good at getting me emergency appointments when needed. Really kind and helpful staff
Brilliant practise. Very helpful and caring reception team and dr walker is wonderful and proactive, Alison the nurse is also excellent. Very grateful for them
Have always been helpful & friendly ..ALL of them...receptionists, Doctors and Practice Nurse. They’ve kept on top of our health problems...which I am so grateful for. But the one thing I’m really grateful for is how lovely they all are towards my now 95 year old Mum. It makes her day when they take the time to chat to her, in particular this past year when they are going through a nightmare along with all of us but I couldn’t think of a practice we’d rather be with
Best doctor's surgery you're going to get. Dr Noronha is exceptional only negative is one or two receptionists are not helpful . No complaints and I've had plenty health problems!
