My absolute favourite venue, so many happy memories. A beautiful refurbished Victorian jewel. Saw the incredibly funny and extremely humble Rhod Gilbert here most recently. Fabulous evening.
Lovely venue to watch acts, we saw Rhod Gilbert and despite being up on the top tier near the back it was a great show!
Lovely place. Great access. Friendly staff. Usual, captive audience, high prices at the concessions.
Came for an event. Parking next to the hall was only £2. Very nice inside and outside. Security were doing a very good job and security. Seats were outdated tho and could do with some more leg room. They should make the seats softer so that when they close they don't make so much noise as the event I was at was supposed to have a quiet crowd but all you could hear were seats closing and it was annoying
The venue is beautifully maintained and staff are very welcoming . I visited for a performance of beyond the barricade and while the performance was great , other audience members were not . Having spoken to mark the theatre operations manager , I have been assured that should we visit again and make complaints to the floor staff . That they will be taken more seriously . Mark was very apologetic for the actions of the audience members . He was loverly to speak to and re assured us of the house practice regarding these issues .
There is very little seating which really let's the venue down, the staff were quite rude when we asked if there was an additional seating anywhere to which we were told you sit where you can see a free seat, really poor. As the venue is also somewhere you can get a drink before the show this was really disappointing. Otherwise the show was good, seats were good and staff showing you to your seats were good! Nice setting overall.
Terrorvision back home in Bradford. An amazing theatre with reasonably priced beer, £10 2 pints Carlsburg & San Mig. The Bar Stool Preacher were a great starting act, then the stage was on fire with Tony and crew. Even had a 3 tier crowd stack bonkers. Cheers for an awesome night/performance, looking forward to the next northern tour.
Lovely venue and nice staff, but disappointing policies. Went to see 'beyond the barricade' and a group of 5 girls behind us were really drunk and were chatting and singing loudly all the way through - to the point where we couldn't even hear the performers at one point. Lots of people were turning round and it was obvious they were ruining it for a lot of people. At half time I spoke to one of the staff and he took it seriously and wanted to take action however came back disappointed and said he wasn't at liberty to ask them to be quiet and there was nothing he could do because the performance as 'a concert'. I've never been to a musical theatre performance before where people are allowed to talk or sing along - I paid to see a professional show but instead ended up getting a drunk karaoke. Frustrating and a waste of money. Shame as it was a lovely venue.
Impressive venue, with friendly staff. Seats are relatively comfortable for an older venue. Two bars which are well managed, so no huge ques during the interval. Overall a positive visit.
Updated and much better. We sat in the stalls and the chairs are ok. Enough room to walk along without standing up. The sound system sounded good. We'd return to watch another group.
